just on a sidenote - dont get THAT one, its been panel repaired at some point in its life
gaps are pretty reasonable - paint matching isnt though (look on the door to front guard, def a diff shade and its more than just light reflecting)

shh u
looks like its a 1/4 panel replacement, rest of the paint is pretty consistant... might have been a carpark accident :) a few dubai summers and the paint will fade evenly :D
I would go and buy a big crate, fit as much diamante series 1 and 2 stuff in it (eg headlight/grille/bumpers/cup holders) and ship to your house, then sell on forums and make your money back on the shipping by adding 10 bucks here 20 bucks there, its bound 2 sell :)

I cant imagine anybody in Dubai going to a wreckers. If there car needs replacing they would go out and buy a brand spankin new one!! Joys of being rich!!!
Maybe ask around local car yards/auto shops they may be able to hook you up with some parts? But like i said. Dubai is an extreamly rich country with extreamly rich people so i cant see them going and hunting a local wreckers for a new indicator when they can just go and pick up a brand new car!!!!

You have a point there although there average wage is somewhat 3 times that of most Western Countries, so even though you say they still have cleaners/garbos/waiters. In Australia/USA/UK they are all dead end jobs with **** pay in Dubai those **** jobs probley pay $40,000AUD a year.
What I am getting at, Dubai is a country where 99.9% of the population can afford things BRAND NEW, therefore finding a wreckers is alot harder than finding a wreckers in Oz. If they need a new door handle or a new radio surrond they will most likely be ordering them online or through a parts shop.
I have been to Dubai, and trust me. You dont understand what its like until you visit.

inflation? Surely everything is much more expensive over there, for example, chips here might be $2 over there i wouold assume it would be $10? So the people doing shuit jobs, in reality, are still not being paid well

Honestly you would be surprised. When i was over there for a Gloria Jeans convention, Gloria Jeans there is almost the same price here but in turkey it is almost 5 times the price. Things are more exspensive eg:clothes/accomodation(all of it is 4-5star). But things like food were relativley the same price as AUD. This was 2 years ago and im sure things have changed due to Dubai being one of the fastest developing countries behind China.
Im going on previous experience, but like i said, im sure things have changed.

obviously there are socioeconomic levels of society over there but on a very different scale.
the city is VERY clean, state of the art, fast and powerful. mainly because of their control over the oil. as far as i know there is no tax, or if there is it is next to nothing.
filling up a landcruise cost a whole 10 dirrum, which equated to about $4 at the time
however i was there in 04, but if i were to take a stab in the dark, id say its only gotten better, ALOT better.
i remember flying over a red desert thinking where the heck is this place in the middle of nowhere, then bam! green, lush and thriving city. it really is an oasis in the middle of the desert

i would say otherwise mate. i lived there for just over five years and the salaries for some of the people there arent all that great, especially when your salary depends on the color of your skin!!
the tourism industry there may be booming, but not every one is reaping the benefits.
but back to the OP, while i lived there i ever really noticed that many diamantes and you dont really find too many older cars out there.

the average wage is only that much higher than ours, because it is a country of extremes mate....you have the shiek who is a trillionare, and there are trillionares all over the place, and then you have your poorer area's...

Child stealing and slavery are rampant in UAE and the surrounding region. You never can make an economy grow quickly if you're feeding your workers cavier and accommodating them in 4-5 star hotel every night. Unfairness is the key to any growing economy, it just makes the lower class work harder to get to that next "position" that will pay an extra 10 cents a week.

Thats 100% true,, i lived there from 1988 till i moved here 2003 n i was safety supervisor in constraction company n if i go there with my australian passport i wld be gettin triple of wot i use 2 get, plus they have the 12 yrs system, wichs now we r in 2008 so u wont find a car on the road below 1996 unless its a unique car, dunno if dis changed now,and those ppl who work as cleaners or waiters, they r not rich in Dubai, but they r reach in their countries cos u wont find any of the locals works in cleanin or in restaurant they have a pride, they only work behind a desk, plus do u think anyone can afford the rent unless ur sponsor provides accommdation, coz u cant buy over there untill recently n only in Dubai, u can buy an appartnent wich gona cost around 2.5 million Dirhams. wot else do u need 2 know ppl? Conclusion, United Arab Emirates is the best place 2 be if u get a good deal from ur company, etc...

Hey dude, the Cedia is a renamed Lancer.
If you can find a 2nd gen Diamante (aka 3rd gen Verada) let me know if you can get cheap parts.
