Hey guys,
this is a very new problem ive had, only been doin this for the last 50km or so..
but i pulled up at a set of lights and the car seemed to sort of..i guess shake or shudder every couple of seconds, as if its about to conk out, but doesnt? and once i accelerate from the lights the revs seem to struggle to get past 2000rpm and then it becomes fine, untill i stop again at traffic lights and the same cycle happends.
If i let the car roll forward a little when im in drive the car seems to shudder aswell..and when i build up speed everything is normal.
any suggestions to what this could be?
unplugged your battery lately? if so, give it an hour of driving and youll be right.

i unplugged my battery on sunday afternoon to install the power cable for my amplifier

It depends on how much you have driven it from then, if it has been a few trips then it should of already fixed itself and locked in new shift patterns.
Make sure you have re-connected the battery properly, might have to disconnect it again and let the car run in idle & then drive it to refresh the patterns.
100% the battery and shift pattern problem.

an update, this morning i drove to work (about 55kms) and there was no issue at all.
is this something that can come back? should i still disconnect/reconnect the battery?

If its fine don't bother disconnecting the battery again, it means the computer has refreshed itself.

Doubt the problem with return, but if it does disconnect the battery, reconnect it, then leave the car to idle in the driveway for about 20mins with the A/C on, quickest way to sort out the idling issue.
Quick search on here for the correct procedure for training the gearbox would be a good idea too, makes the shifts smoother and should improve economy.

if the issue comes back ill definately try that, do you have the air con on full? or just on the lowest setting?
mozzaldinho, fuel economy hasnt been effected, iam still around the 11-12.0lt/100km mark

Update on my issue, it has gotten quite bad this morning, i went to couple of Mechanics here in port melbourne to see what they, turns out im running on 5 cylinders and the spark plug sections have oil in them. also the original spark plug leads are still on it! 230ks later!
i need to replace the rocker cover gaskets, n all that.
so on monday i booked her in for a major service (ohwell get to drive my dads '05 Verada to work instead :D )

All that from disconnecting the battery? - Car must of been traveling like this for a while
Spark plugs & leads should be changed regularly, this is quite basic.

it probably wasn't because of the battery disconnection that caused it
yeah quite right, ive only had the car for a week and its done this to me!!!
thats what happens when a car doesn't come with a service history!
