View Full Version : Decent Pedals?

Just wondering if anyone has ever come across any decent accelerator/brake pedals for their cars that look fairly classy and OEM (Read: NOT rice). My break pedal rubber is actually worn back to the metal in one corner, so I'm after something to replace it.

Did any Magna's have like a dealer option to have alloy pedals fitted? I'm not aware of any, but perhaps it was just uncommon so I've missed them.

I'm aware of genuine Ralliart pedals (http://www.ralliart.com.au/RalliartVehicles/SportsParts.aspx) that can be bought from Mitsubishi dealers, but last price I got on those was over the $400 mark, I'm probably only willing to spend up to the $100 mark for something like this.

Final question, legalities? What makes pedals fitted after factory legal/illegal? Surely since many cars have fitting alloy pedals as a dealer option (I know Commodores and several other Mitsu cars have this) there must be a proper way to fit them legally?

Just to give you guys an idea, I'm after some along the lines of these:

No no, I said pedals, not 'padels'.

Cheers for that, but not after any momo ones. Want to keep clear of anything with a brand name written on it actually.

I've actually sourced where to get these (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=MorePartInfo&PartID=538901&siteid=214672&catalogid=4462)ones from. Just need to find out about fitment, and looks like they might be costing a fair bit with the US/Aus exchange rate at the moment too.

I have Ultimate Pedals, including a custom made footrest cover. Google this and you will find the US site. Hundreds of dollars but unapproachable billet machined quality.

When I fitted mine I got bombarded with lines saying they were illegal, they have to have rubber on them somewhere etc etc. When I took the car through ACT reg a few months ago I asked them to look at the pedals, and they were totally unconcerned. Car passed. My tip to you would be not to believe every opinion on this form about pedals. If you wanna be sure, go see your rego authority with photos of the pedals you propose using AND information on how they are fitted (mine were through using stainless screws and lock nuts supplied and drilled through the metal under your original pedal covers).
