Hey guys, my family just got a TJ Magna Sports (which I will soon be learning on) to replace an aging TS Magna Executive as a second car

The previous owner however, did not have any of the manuals or other related goodies for the car, so we are very confused about some of its functions, has the owners manual been uploaded to this website as that would be very helpful :)

They also modded a few parts here and there, its been resprayed, and had 19" wheels fitted all around. I will hopefully post some pics after it gets cleaned. They also added a new Pioneer CD Player but I will make a seperate thread on that elsewhere as they did something very stupid with that.

Anyway, here are a few questions

1. I find the car to be VERY loud, but the exhaust looks standard (it faces downwards at the back of the car, no massive chrome bits or anything). Was the car loud when standard or has the previous owner messed with the exhaust?

2. There is a flashing 5 on the display on the dash, it just starts flashing as soon as you turn the car on, what is it???

I will most likely have more questions to add to this small list tomorrow :)

Thanks for any answers you guys can give :)

The exhaust sounds like it is standard, the factory sports muffler was a bit louder then the standard, with the number 5 on the lcd display, press and hold the trip computer button for a few sec then it will beep and press and hold again and it will beep again then it is right to go, bascially it needed to be reset

When resetting the trip computer, (which has to be done whenever the battery is disconnected) the '5' is actually an 'S' which stands for sedan, if u press the mode button once it will change to a 'W' which is for wagon.. hold the mode button in when it is on 'S' to select sedan.

Then it will ask which motor you have depending on whether it is the 3.0L model or 3.5L and repeat as above...

Thanks guys, the Trip Computer is working now

Also, after a service the car is much quieter but still relatively loud. It's much better now and it sounds quite good

Dear Awesome!

There is a Forum here called Tech Torque - with a "sticky" thread near the top which has links for the genuine Mitsubishi Workshop Manual for various model-ranges of Magna/Verada.

As far as I recall, haven't bothered looking for ya, there isn't the "Operators Manual" linked - please someone correct me if I am wrong here.

However, I'd recommend a wrecker or even FleaBay to get your hands on a copy of the OPerators Manual - don't pay much for it, buut it is very handy to have with the car to refer Fuses, How radio codes work, the Trip Computer functions etc.

I have a TJ Sports (man) which is a bit noisier than the KJ Verada I also drive. Sports in TJ had a bit more engine power output, partly through ECU tune but also courtesy of a slightly larger exhaust system - including a free-er flowing rear muffler..... it is this which makes the car noisier than base models. Its also possible that prev owner put even less restricitive muffler on, or otherwise changed the exhaust in the pursuit of more power and/or more noise.
