This is what I accomplished so far, a prototype of my air duct. I still need to do a few more sanding and bogging. The final product will be 4 layers of carbon fiber and epoxy resin then vacuum bagged. How do you liked it so far? :D

Looks good dude, reminds me of what you see on some Honda Kits, any chance of an underbonnet shot to see how it all works?

might be just me but it looks alittle tacky or out of place
would have been better hidden behind the grill or something so it doesnt stand out as much

I'm sure it won't look tacky and out of place once the carbon fiber sits on the grille:D

Daytime shot looks Shmick.
Have you considered a mirror image on opp side of bonnet latch, to balance visuals - needn't be functional, just the dip-lip let into grill for symmetry?
Do you plan to manufacture this mod, or is it your one-off speziale?

No, I won't do a mirror image. I like the way it looks so far.
Something like this:)

i think you should mold it into the grill itself, and then get the 2 colour coded, so it looks like part of the grill

Just an update for my project:
Since I already messed up with my grille, I decided to make it letterbox type as well (TE grille??? ).
I read that TH grille was the most used grille for this project and I can't see any reason why TF and TE cannot be done. I hope this is not a waste of time.

Pm me pics of yours I wanna see
to get it smooth you just have to use a finer and finer grade of sandpaper, unless you have pinholes everywhere then some spray putty helps.
but yeah when I make these I make them flat top and bottom, or else I dunno, the beak thing on the top looks strange

TUFFTR: Magna's front grilles are too long so I decided to make a beak to break that straight boring long line. The beak serves as the focal point of the grille. I love that portion of the grille.
Mozza: I used pieces of acrylic plastic and plasti-bond, then sand and primed.

That is one SCHMICK job. Unbelievable. IMHO, a very mint, professional finish.
What on earth did you us for the mesh, and how did you shape it - it just looks car-industry quality (sorry, maybe that sounds like an oxymoron, but its meant as a huge compliment).
I would be very very surprised if no-one wants you to produce this for sale. Well done!!
Very nice job mate. If you attack the Plastibond before its fully cured it will make your life easier, just leave minimal amount to finish off once rock hard.

Noticed any difference in the way the car behaves? Wouldn't mind doin this but have the scoop behind the grill and infront of the radiator... no way am I cutting my Rada grill.

Easier way of doing this is to remove the plastic panel that sits around the bonnet release, and remove the rubber strip that runs along the front edge of the bonnet. Air will go thru the grille straight into the intake snorkel.

It's hard to say the difference but I'm sure that there are heaps of air now flowing in the snorkel:D .
Yeah, I agree not cut your grill and do it behind, if I have the Rada grill I would do the same.

Guess it doesn't look toooooooooo bad but after initially seeing it after I've made so many letterbox grilles it just looked half done to me...
Not the worst grille I've ever seen and yeah guess it does flow nice but dunno never seen a letterbox with a beak opening when you put letters in :P

Top stuff on the snorkle man!
I was talking to my mechanic about one today actually.
I wanna do the same on my kj but run it down and remove the plastic shield from the radiator support and put it nice and snug behind the grille so it takes in fresh air direct.
Might even point it down so it doesnt suck up water when it rains.

Unless your driving through a small river no water will get up there

Hahahahaha!
Totally hear ya there man.
Very hard to do it on the kj though cause of the way the bonnet dips in the middle but will try somethin anyway.
I removed the plastic shield above the grille so maybe now it will suck a little more air hopefully, its a tight squeez between the rad support and bonnet.

its a tight squeez between the rad support and bonnet.
Actually there is quite a bit of space between the 2 if you look on the underside of the bonnet, it curves upward quite a bit after the beak.

Also remove or cut the rubber strip on the underside of the bonnet for maximum air flow if you haven't done so already.
