Yes people, you read correctly!

I got a brain wave last night, and I can't believe how well it works!

The rear red markers had always annoyed me since putting on the clear side repeaters - so i've been looking for a solution ever since - and it hit me...

Using the light dispersing plastic that you would find covering fluorescent lights, I cut them to size using the original markers as my template. Now cause this plastic is thinner than the original markers, i using some silver plastic spacers behind the plastic to keep it the same depth as the original markers.

Now, they don't serve any real function atm, but will be wiring in a loom and connecting red LEDs to the parkers very soon.

But here are the results so far - Looks hot IMO...

Wiring and lights are now done - However, awaiting red globes, so I put in some ambers i had lying around - looks da shiz!

One of my mates did this to his R31 Skyline a couple of years back. Works a treat. It'll look good when you get the bulbs/wiring done :D

Now someone should do it for the TL side indicators....

Had the very same thought when I saw the thread :) How'd you go about cutting the plastic?

It's good for you with a redish verada, but what about the people driving white and blue veradas?

Just doesnt quite look right imo, kind of like orange indicators on a white car. Hell I even got pissed off with my yellow plates and got white ones :)

looks the goods on the silver rada.
But like all colour related mods, works with some colours, wont with others, luckily, your car is the right colour!
Winner :)

Thanks for all the feedback guys,

Will post up again soon when i get the wiring done.

For those of you with TL's, if you can take off the fitting and post a pic, i'd have a look at it and see what I can do...

I have a few other tricks up my sleeve that i had devised if my current idea hadn't worked.

Ok guys,

Went out to Autobarn today and bought Globe sockets and Red LED globes.

Made up a set of brackets that sit behind the lenses and mounted the globe sockets to them.

Hooked up all the wiring and is working spot on with the parking lights!

Will take some pics when it gets dark and will post later...

Nice... I see you have a poll going there... Why not both?

Use a relay to switch between...

If indicator flicks on, kill power to parkers.

Would be pimping :)

The only problem with that, is the FLASHER relay sends intermittent signal to the indicators...

So by setting this up, it will end up flashing red, orange, red, orange, etc...

The other solution would be to set it up vice versa - deleting indicators when parkers are turned on.

Orange/red flashing is fine, its actually legal even. A few of the older cars (ie. transam) do it.

Just use super bright orange, and normal red. it will overpower the red.

We''ll see how it looks tonight with just the red and go from there...
