Hi guys
Whats the differences between the sports and vr-x?
From what i can see its basically the bodykit, as the engine power and interior are identical.
I know this has probably been answered 100 times before but i couldnt find it in search.
Cheers

i know at least in the TH sports the front seats have 'sports' embroided in them but i'm not sure what the VRX's have in their front seats.
Exhaust tip too. I think that is pretty much it!

no such thing as a TH VRX though.
the differences between TJ Sports & VRX are extrememly minimal bar the body kit.

Didn't it come with wider rubber on the vrx. I read a review and said the wider tires were helpful

VRX has the kit - embroided seats - VR-X dails - badging - different alloys on S2 - engine cover - exhaust tip.
But tell you what even though its mostly for show its worth it every time I walk back to my car. The KJ Rada grill helps too :)

VR-X and Sports both had 7" wide tyres, however the S2 VR-X tyres were one inch larger, which means less sidewall flex.

Having had a look at two over the weekend (and cried at how much the price has come down since Jan!) The main differences i saw were:
VRX has climate control, VRX interior, different rims, slightly different body kit, single exhaust tip (in chrome on this model) and a TCS on/off button. Although there might have been one on the Sports and i just didn't notice.

both series 1 sports and VRX had normal air con but with the series 2 they both got climate and the autos had the TCS button.

climate control would have been a series II. TCS is standard on all Auto VRX/sports. You have to compare Series I's and II's seperately, although they are very close to being the same in each series against eachother, except sports or vrx badging, including all have engine covers. As mentioned 17's on vrx series II

I think Series II Sports/VR-X got one-piece parras instead of two piece as well.

Ahhh that was my next question
Is there that much difference in weight though?

2003 Mitsubishi TJ Series 2 Magna Sports Manual
Kerb Weight (kg) 1472
2003 Mitsubishi TJ Series 2 Magna VR-X Manual
Kerb Weight (kg) 1493
Now im no mathematician, but if I had to guess, I would say the difference is around the 21kg mark.

Im no mathematician either but if the sports is only 21kg lighter thats means it would be roughly 1.4065639651% faster lol, i dont think that would be that noticable.
