hey guys,
as some of you know (from my rides thread) i have acquired some bags for my magna.
wiring is fairly straight forward etc etc so it wont be too hard. however, the tubing to inflate the bags needs to run externally from the can, ie under the car. my question is, before i go and rip my boot and back seat apart, is there any factory means of access to the cha ssis (filter) via the boot or will it require a hole being cut (which i dont like the idea of) to run the tubing.
cheers guys.
EDIT: ADMIN: can you please change my topic title to say chas sis so people can understand what this thread is about. cheers

How many tubes need to be ran?,can you drill a small hole in the boot floor then use a grommet to keep it neat and tidy and water proof?,why does it need to be ran down the chasis rails?
PS-this swear filter is getting beyond a bloody joke aswell

cheers for the quick replies guys
4x 3/8 plastic/rubber tubing. its gonna be a difficult task, but the reason it needs to be on the outside is due to the inlet for the air being below the strut tops and bags. I asked kyle if he ran his externally and he did, but havent heard back from him how he did this. also have looked underneath several "mini-trucks" and other bagged cars and theyre all ran externally.
it should be an easy install aside from this obsticle, and for the purpose of the bags i can't justify the $2.5k starting point for install...

maybe they just put it inside some convulted tube and "P" clip it all the way to the pump or can,as long as secured up and not hanging down etc,you shouldnt have a drama i would imagine, hell ,people run live battery cable form the front of the car to the back in the same manner with no troubles, but it may be best top get advice from a bloke who has done it like you said as he may have some tricks you need to know about

Yes you will need to drill holes at least for the rear.
in my car in the front i ran the tube with my speaker wire through the car into the dash and through the fire wall and just drilled a hole in the guards where you couldnt see it.
In my car in the boot i just drilled holes either side in the wheel arches. didnt even need the plastic tube, you could get an end for it to bolt the thick black rubber hose right onto the bags. (you will see me and kyle used about 4cm of the thin tube as i was lazy and it would jump of the ground if you dont use the 4cm of restricting tube)
in kyles car we did the same as mine in the back but ran the front through these holes as well. We pushed the front inside the Cha55ie all the way to the front and DIDNT drill any holes in the front guards, we just come up from underneith.
You can easily make the back go as low as you like.
i made it so if a bag popped i could still drive or jack the car of the ground
to make it lower you can just cut the bottom where i welded the o ring on and reweld it on the side with some bracing as follows (easy extra 2" in the back)
as for the front, you will need shorter struts (pro bag has them, and this is where i got the kit) You got an awsome bargain on this kit. Kit = $2600 plus brobally another $3000 for installation and i made the kit a bolt in kit. good lukc with it and get some pics up!!!

Not sure if can be done but under the quater panels and around the rear bumper there are several grommets you may be able to use to run the tube around and into the boot. On the third gens thre is a grommet under the LH tail light for the factory towbat wiring.
It would require you to run a lot more tubing so may cause issues but is a thought if you do not want to drill holes

The hose is not very flexi and the first 80cm it’s about 2cm diameter with bolts about 3cm diameter on each end. It doesn’t like going around corners very much.
Also if you are looking at getting in Engineered in NSW:
My engineer said
"1. You will need to make the switches inoperable while the cars on."
"You are supposed to have it rise to a legal height (either manually or automatically) before you can start the car for driving and not be able to alter this while driving, but we have had people's cars turn off if the pressure in the bags goes down below a certain PSI and crash. Some places are a little more lenient on this as the only way people can do it is put a relay at a certain PSI to be able to start the car once it’s pumped up. The only downside is the cars turn off (using this meathod) if a bag pops or you have a slow leak"
Me and my mates are still yet to figure out a way to put a relay or something on the ignition so you can only start it at a certain PSI and it wont cut this ignition below that certain PSI. But most have managed to get engineer certs without this.
The alternative to this is a $2000 kit that does it all for you, keeps even pressure in all bags ect. Most places won’t engineer without this unless you know someone ;)
PS. I had the kit in my car for over a year and never got defected. But I lived in Wangaratta and the cops come over one day just to take a look at my car and it way laid out in my driveway. (next door neighbour was a cop and they just wanted to have a look )
“Nice car, good to see you have plenty of tread, haven’t seen the car around before”
Me “yeah I’m from Wollongong just here working for a while”
Good luck
