hey all,
so after a trip to sydney a couple weeks back i noticed my front passenger tyre was slowly ( over a few days to a week ) letting itself down, so before driving the other day i put my spare on and noticed the same is now happening the the brand new tyre on the front passenger side
any ideas before i take the car to a shop cause when the tyres get low its a clear pull on the wheel ( i can feel it while driving ) and i dont have the time to keep stopping and filling the air in the tyre

maybe you had a leak on you spare too???
take both wheels to a tyre joint and get them to test for leaks. depends on where the leak is wont cost much to patch it up.
but ye nothing wrong with the car unless you have a spike sticking out from the struts thats puncturing the wheel lol
but ye could be just a case of bad luck in having a dudd spare aswell
edit: can you see the drop in tyre pressure or is it just that you can feel it pull to one side??

I can't think of anything other than you're really unlucky and the new tyre has a puncture as well? I've never heard of tyres losing pressure by other means. But then again i don't know that much lol.
Get the tyres checked out, that part is free :)
there ya go, what ashneel said, beat me to it lol

You will have something in the tyre (screw or nail).
Nothing un common. Sometimes they can hold pressure and you wont even notice. Ive ha d a big screw in and it took 4 weeks to go down.
What ever you do if you inspect and find something dont pull it out, If you do tyre will go down in minutes and then u will be stuffed..:). Stop off at a tyre shop and they will sort you out..

While on the topic of tyres, my back right has a small leak on the wall of the tyre. The shop said it can't be fixed. Is this true or was he just hoping i would fork out for a new tyre??

Yeah soon as you get a hole/leak on the sidewall its time for a new tyre, its because they cant plug it as the forces acting on the sidewalls during cornering etc might cause it to pop out.
At least thats what ive been told anyways.

went out and had a look and nothing was poking into the spare from the car and nothing was stuck in either tyre ( pin, nail, etc ) might just have to wait till i get the time to take it back to bridgstone

It could be the that it is leaking from the bead of the tyre, ive had it happen on an old set of cheap chromies, the paint and chrome had flaked on the seat of the bead causing it to leak.

Hehe I actually have the same problem with my front left tyre, slow leak that lets it down from 40 to about 25 over the space of two weeks. I just pump it up every two weeks until I get new tyres, works for me.

I'd say it was the valve cores not being screwed in tightly enough when the new tyres were fitted. Zip down to your local accessory store and lash out five bucks on a valve core tool and tighten them yourself. End of problem.

i had the exact same thing, front right went down every few days and spare didnt hold pressure, turned out there was a nail in the front and the spare was leaking out the beading, cost $50 too repair both. any tyre guy can do it.
Get a bucket, put some water in, then fill it with soap. Then splash it on your tyres and look for bubbles. Thats how a tyre place is gonna test it...

Tyres are black and round.
They have air in them.
Sometimes the air leaks out.
Then you have to go to a tyre shop to get it fixed.
And pay money.
Get over it.
Live with it.

true to a point, i had a hairline leak in my sidewall, bridgestone said they couldnt (didn't want to) fix it, so i went to a mate of mine who works at jax (bridgestone is next to work) and he did it up in a second, no wuccas. got a good life out of that tyre...
its more to the point that tyre shops dont wanna take the risk of a sidewall puncture so yes you are right that it can pop out, but it can also be fixed... just depends on who u talk to :doubt:
