View Full Version : No manual box oil make gears slip?

Hey guys I've drained the fluid out of my manual box. And I've tried to undo drive shafts nuts. And even with 1st engaged Its very easy to spin the hub. Like it's not in gear? What's the go?

is it spinning the other hub backwards?

There'll still be oil all over the gears. If you've got both both front wheels raised, the diff will just freewheel both shafts. If you haven't already taken the brakes apart, get someone to hold the pedal down while you loosen the castle nuts.

yeah, car is off ground compleatley, no wheels, no brakes, no fluids, no shocks/springs.

i havnt checked, i think it is, i may be able to jam that one up, so i can undo the nut on the oppisite side. ill give it another crack in the morning

Yeah you'll find the oposite wheel will be spinning because of your open differential.

Got it. Im used to working on my auto. I just put it in p and it all locks up. Any one got tips on how to remove the. Nuts? They are on really tight. My rattle gun air compressor is too small I think

put the calipers back on and have someone hold the brake pedal down... its the easiest way.. i hope youve gota big breaker bar... there usually very very tight.....

Put on the calipers and then use a screwdriver in throught he caliper into the vents of the rotor, always works for me
