hey there, i have a 1999 TH magna advance, its got 150,000 ks on it, and its due for a oil change. i was told by dandenong mitsubishi (where the car was serviced by the previous owner its whole life) that they where using castrol magnetec, but they didnt tell me what grade of oil. so i thought i would ask, what do you guys recomend?

10W-40, 5W-40, 15W-40 - Can't really go wrong.

Do a search tho, this topic has been beaten to death.

RTFM :)

Its in your handbook in the glovebox.

20w50 weight around the $20 mark is more than enough.

Well I didn't research the grades of magnatec we could order in but over the shelf its only 10w-40
then again haven't worked there in 4 months so maybe 10w-30 came in but we never had it.

Knew you'd correct me...

re magnatec - an oil that "sticks to the moving parts" just doens sit right with me. I used to be a castol lad, but use shell now.

shell lube match (http://www.shell.com/home/page/au-en/shell_for_businesses/lube_match/app_lubematch.html)

Helix Utra 5W40 here. Expensive but I always argue you get what you pay for...
