G'day all,
I've got Diamondvisions (H4's) for my stock headlights. I've been thinking about getting Para's for a while but will it mean having to get different model bulbs? As in a different H-something and another $100!?
cheers

pretty sure the parras run a H7 type bulb, are you doing this for looks or lighting performance?,as the stock lights will have a better spread and distance then the parras, they have a flawed reflector design according to a light guru on here
edit,beat me to it!

Ahhhh, that's a big YEP. If you changed to Parra's, you will need different bulbs - plus need to change the wiring of your car a bit. Parra's headlamp units take a combo of H1 and H7 - one is low beam, one is high beam (CBF checking which is which). Neither of these are a dual-filament bulb like the H4.
Putting Parra's into a "std" vehicle without searching forums and reading threads will lead to a situation where you have only one beam (again CBF looking if it is High beam only or Low beam only). Search for several threads, and also search for threads started by HeathYoung - absolutely EXCELLENT advice/info provided (Thanks!!!!!).
I bought a cheap TJ Sports - but very rough-treated, it had been in front hit and not fixed right - had std lights in. When I bought some parra's of FleaBay, I was lucky cos bulbs were included..... there is also a hard-plastic BULB HOLDER (bit like old-fashioned Bakelite) which adapts H1/H7 bulbs onto the loom connectors - I was mighty confused looking for upgrade bulbs at AutoBarn (lucky the 16yo female shop assistant knew more about it than I did).
Also, be aware that the parra's may look cool - but in a 3rd Gen give ****ty light output (not as well focussed etc) as the standard lights. I got one-piece parra's for the TJ, then later bought a KJ which has two-piece parra's - I think the one-piece units look far sexier. Your mileage may vary (meaning you are welcome to your own opinion).

I've recently installed parras in my car and i highly recommend getting philips bluevision globes for them.
Pure white light which is a lot better than i had with std globes in my std lights.
Also you should try to change the globes before you install the lights, much much much easier!

Cheers for the help. That does mean that the H4's I have bought is all I need for high and low beam with the stock lights right? I haven't put them in yet and I only bought the one set of diamondivisions, plus blue parkers.
