View Full Version : TE 97 clutch ? Replacement advice please?
Newbie here,
Just bought a cheap TE 97 Magna with a slipping clutch:rant: , looking for advice and some idea of what it'll cost to replace. Also thinking about doing it myself anyone here done there own is it worth trying?. Or can someone recomend a good workshop in Melbourne where I won' t be ripped off.:bowrofl:

4cyl or 6?
The 6 cyl isnt cheap the clutch itself is around 450-800 for a standard + another 400-600 for fitting, only hard bit is the throwout fork since its a pull type clutch. If you have never changed a clutch before i reccomend a mechanic to do it. Its a bit fiddly and its fwd

Thanks for the reply, I've changed a rwd clutch before but never on fwd looks a bit tricky and haven't got much in the way of tools anymore, it's a V6 hoping to get it done for under $1000.00:redface:
