hey all, long time no speaky..
Well i have been thinking that i need new tyres fair soon and i cant constitute spending big bucks on rims too, so i wanna spray my alloys black! dont need to look good or anythin but i just wouldnt have a clue as to what paint to get.
obviously a paint that can handle hi temps will help but outside of that what else should i be doing before giving it a go? ( and yes i have a 6th alloy that ill be testing on before goin all out on the car and completely butt f@cking it up )

Way I did it to look pimp.
(Using engine enamel, degreaser, brush, and 800G sandpaper)

Wash down rims with degreaser and a brush, let dry, Heat gun helps.
Sand down with 800, just enough to make it all smooth by hand.
Wash with water, dry with heat gun (vertical, or else water pools in the crevice)
Mask most of the tyre up, saves unneeded overspray.
Give it two light coats of engine enamel, let dry in sun
(Warm 28+ degree day would be ideal)
Paint another 3-4 coats with a heavy application let dry in the sun
Wipe off overspray with turps.

In the end you should have sexy glossy stockies (or alloys) for about $25 for all materials.

My brother got his Liberty rims powder coated Gold (Like the WRX). $40 each for whatever colour you want if you want it matt (like power coating usually looks) .$80 each for powder coating + 2 coats of clear coat over the top.

Looks mint
