A little, Just get some pipe put through it at the exhaust shop. $40 max
Dont let the 15K fine put you off though......
I mean, they only need to point a temp gun at it and your out of pocket for 15K....

+1 and most exhaust shops wont modify your cat at all.
The old school method is rather simple....
Run a rich tune for a couple weeks and give it some good hits, you'll see bits of cat flying out your exhaust......
Still a 15K fine........

after about 4500 rpm it starts to get tinny and raspy but if you change at 4000 rpm
you should be able to get away with hearing it just as you shift

Problem with this method if your mufflers aren't straight through you will clog the crap out of them then you will be replacing those as well...

Full straight through system. Pacies to hi flow resonator and rear muffler. With full 2.5' piping. Only stock cat

A new Highflow cat will cost you high 200's to low 300 depending on what you get
EPA will cost you upto $15k, especially if they see it has been recently taken off....
You do the math.....

i punched the cat on my track 180 (instead of buying a/making a test-pipe) and it made no difference to sound/performance what so ever, granted its hard to tell the difference with anything above 108dB and it was already a 3.5inch system the cat was punched as its one thing that could have failed on the track and cost me my mind.
