cut out some 3mm MDF In your desired shape and place it behind what your covering it in for an awesome embossed finish.
Mines covered in black fur. ******ing pimping.

You'll want to use a strong glue - I attempted this with my 2nd Gen, using a spray adhesive - which lasted about a week.

MDF is medium density fibreboard - basically a sheet of manufactured timber. It's very easy to work with. If you can get some heat activated adhesive, it's the best thing to use.

Yeah....Used it before and found out luckily the weak properties it has.
I'm using contact adhesive BUT from a tin. You'll need about a litre if your doing fluff like mine.
Layer it on not thin, but not thick.
So far, So good!

use a hard surfaced material like vynal or something better and paint that.... a dark moon-lit setting would look subtle and awesome.

If you have a fg headliner made up you'll be able to airbrush it :)

Best method I have found is to go grab one from a wrecker and fit it. Its only a 1/2 hour job, just a pain getting it home, Youll have it jabbing you in the back of the head all trip.

Liquid Nails and a paintbrush can also fix your sagging one if its only sagging at the back or sides.

If you do it using what i said, it will last a long time. When you get a roof re-covered at an upholsterer they don't use magic to stick it back up :P

So get rid of the standard card and use some MDF hey? How do you shape it in there? Got any pics handy of your process?

Noooo no no no, you take everything you can off the standard roof card. From there i just applied contact adhesive on both surfaces and let get tack dry before applying bit by bit.
Never used the MDF method before But I've been told many times thats how you do it. I'm taking a stab thinking they would just use more contact adhesive sticking that down.
