I've always suspected that my KW GVTi AWD is a little lower than my dad's TJ Exec SII and the springs are stiffer as well. Went and measured the distance between the top of the arch and the centre of the wheel and here are the results:

Mine: Front - 395mm; Back - 375mm
Dad's: Front - 410mm; Back - 390mm

Just as a curiosity, could a few people with stock TL/TW/KL/KW measure the same distance and post their results.

Thanks all.

Due to the AWD hardware i guess AWD models would always sit a little lower than FWD models

didnt the GTVi get some VRX bits, maybe the lower springs came from the VRX?
i think VRX's are lower then exec's, although someone tell me if im wrong

My understanding is the GTVi is the "Verada VRX". Was 2WD until the TW when it came in AWD only. Mechanically Identical to a VRX just a different body kit and interior trim (and passenger power seat). On all the spec sheets I have, the total height for the "standard" (aka non VRX) TL/TW models was 1435mm whereas the VRX (both 2WD & AWD) is 1422mm. Hope this helps :)

Yeap, due to chassis improvements like extra side impact bars in the doors, side air bags and other little changes like bigger sway bars, and a Oliver Boliver designed front. lol

I have a TJII AWD Sports.

Before I changed the standard springs is was much lower than the standard car.

However the overall height printed in the Owners manual is the same. GO figure!!

The GTVI's have the same springs as the Sports/VRX/Ralliart's, also they have an extra 200ish kg to curb weight. Hence why they sit lower.

TW auto VRX 2WD is 1576kg, KW GTVi AWD is 1695kg. (TW VRX AWD is 1686kg) so just over a 100kg more. If you wanted a light weight TL/TW go the manual ES 1509kg. (how many did they sell??)
I'm full of fact & figures today :)

fuel weighs a fair bit, a full tank will make a difference over an empty one. Also has to be on completely flat surface

They are definitely more limited than my Limited Edition lol
