In the pursuit of further 'ICE' ive decided to purchase a dvd screen to compliment my car. The screen will be either 10 or 12 inches and flat.

SO my question is: Where is the best place to mount the screen without it becoming a theft target? (i.e hidden from sight when car is locked). Some possible locations i have thought of include the glovebox (best option if it fits), or the inside of the bootlid. Can anyone who has one or has knowledge about dvd screens plz offer some suggestions, criticisms etc.

ok, a 10 or 12" screen is very big!! (car AV wise anyway) and it wont fit in the g'box. no way. perhaps if you were tricky and knew a few engineering bits n pieces, then you could perhaps make it 'fold' in and out of the g'box. but staticly moutning any screen of that size in there wont work as such.

putting the screen in the boot is the easiest, BUT.. whos gotta watch dvd's in the boot? unless its just for pure show-eyecandy, i woudlnt.

not a 'anti-theft' idea, but if your car wasnt fitted with passenger airbags, then you could mount the screen on the dash for ya passenger... again tho -> its easly visible, and could be dangerious in a accident (touch wood)

Cheers booya, but it is definately being proffessionally installed by a mate so possibly it could fit in the glove box.

The boot appealed to me for the reason of showing off n i might possibly be putting 2 screens altogether, so one in the cabin n one in the boot. :D

Oh n my magna has no airbags.

can't you mount it flip down from the roof??

I mean - it will fold up while you are not using it so it is hidden - but driving means you lose your rear view mirror

But like Booya said a 10-12" screen is F****N HUGE for car ICE!! most ppl have 6.5-7.5" screen!!

Anything will fit providing your willing to spend a little more money and prepared to hack a few things up :D Nothing fibreglass can't fix. I think you should be able to pull something off with your glovebox.

10" or 12"??! holy crap!! that is big, i have a 96 TE with a 5" in the glove box, that was relatively easy to install, i recommend you go a 7" or a 7.5" for the front and a 10" or 12" for the boot if you are thinking of 2 screens, a 10" or 12" in the front is just too damn big i reckon
