Made a visit to Jaycar at Rydalmere (Sydney) last week when AMC was in hiatus (I didn't find the DNS work-around)...

Anyways, I plan to keep factory HU's in TJ Sports and KJ Verada - but a noisy door speaker in TJ had me shopping for what I hope will be a slight upgrade. I got Venom 6.5" splits (may only use the big driver in door and just keep factory door tweeters - dunno).

However, point of this post is that they had Response 6"x9" (5-way??) reduced to $20- and so I thought "What the Hey - might be better than stock" and got 2 sets for $20- each, to go into rear parcel shelf of the TJ and the KJ.

They also had a few Subwoofers (not my thing), think they were 12" and think they were "Response" - also at $20- in a heap of stuff on the floor a bit away from the counter. Just thought someone on a budget who is a Sub Fan might benefit - would have posted much earlier if could access AMC.


If anyone has experience of the "Venom" Splits or Response 6x9's I'd be grateful to hear your opinions and advice.

The Jaycar response stuff (from what I have read on here) is pretty good stuff and punch above their weight for what you pay for them.

I had the response 6x9s in my TH sports, you probably wouldnt find much better for under $100 so for $20 you should be quite pleased.

Got the whole response shopping list in my car, much better sound. Was the first time I ever took a panel off my car. Just got to finish sound deadening the car and I can relax at the concert.

Look in local jaycar to see if their stock has cleared.
