:bowrofl:
2 bolts hold it in...and there might be one more on the back, and a terminal, 30 min job at most with the right tools.

1) Disconnected Battery
2)Disconnect Power lead and solenoid connections
3) Remove 2 mounting bolts at the gear end of the motor

Refitting is just the reverse of above.

Yeah but do I need to remove anything to get down there? Or should I be trying to get it from underneath?

YOU are a complete idiot mate. Dont be stupid, be helpful

OP, IT's an annoying spot. Best bet is to drive the car up on ramps. If you cant start it however, thats not possible, so use some GOOD chassis stands and get underneath. Get underneath it and you'll be able to get good access to it with an extension and a ratchet.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Mate, 4cyl dont bother from underneath for the starter.

Best way,
disconnect your battery
Remove your MAF and pipe upto the Throttle Body.
Trace the 2 cables from the starter back over the trans, unclip them both
Remove the 2 bolts from the trans to the starter (these you can not access from underneath unless you have 6 foot long arms)
I also remove the brace from the inlet back to the block as the starter will be a pig to get our around this, then agian I have good tools so this is easy to get out.
Remove the starter, place the cables on the new one and then replacement is reverse of above.

Oh, come on!
Anyone who can read a (free, borrowed from this forum) manual, can see how its done!
Just some people would rather waste their time here complaining about how hard a particular car job is. Got many relatives with the same approach. In the case of the rellies its more "I don't want to get my hands dirty, if I whinge enough YOU will do it for me."

OK. I confess. It was said in jest, knowing more patient members would help out the OP,
so I was being idiotic - tongue in cheek type - but a COMPLETE idiot? A bit harsh, surely??

[ Waiting for an apology with bated breath]

Mate, if the OP was a long time member, then fair enough, He is a new member, may not even be aware of the online downloadable manual and has asked for assistance.

What you put up was just spam, not helpful and no apology is needed. What was said back could also have been taken as jest?

OK. I'm cynical, you are angry. We both have to work on our public relation skills.

OP - did you get your starter motor problem sorted?
