I am getting a 2.5" cat-back exhaust installed on my 3.0L v6 TF magna advance on monday.
It is being done at Carline, and i am having a Lukey LR2779 Installed for $435 (little pricey??!)
Anyway, I also got a quote from mettams mufflers for $380 (for a berkley catback) and another from TTF who are also asking $410 for a berklee system.
Do you think i have made the right decision with carline? Or should I be going to metthams and getting a berklee?
and I dont know if normal mufflers come with dual tips ( I am wanting two dumpy's)...But im thinking that most mufflers only have one so i will prob need to get a tip which splits into two small dumpy's.? Anybody done this with their lukey/berklee?
Help would be much appreciated, and if you think i should maybe be getting a different brand of catback to the ones above (I want quiet idle with roar when accelerating..with minimum drone) then feel free to comment!!!

First off, Search button yields good results with exhausts i hear.\
400 isnt bad if it includes a nice tip as well. The LR2779 has a little drone at 2-2.5k rpm, never have heard a berklee exhaust on a magna.

Yeah i have been using the Search button quite alot... but the opinions are all so different.... i wish somebody could just say "get this catback".... anyway....
Does anybody know of a "magnaflow" dealer in perth?

i'm sure there will be plenty of people on here that will tell you to get a *insert their brand of exhaust here* cat back exhaust...

u've probly already seen from searches...but the lukey LR2779 seems to be a good favourite. And very sim/same as standard sports/vrx muffler.
as someone with the standard lukey on the AWD Sports 2.5" exhaust... im VERY happy with mine. (not to noisy or droney, quiet, but sounds great when u push it).

And about the dual dumpy tips i want.... Will i have to go and buy these separately?

The Exhaust place should have a few for you to choose from and can weld on then and there.

Wow thats pretty good! Where was that from?
Maybe the prices in WA are just alot more expensive? I have been quoted $380, $410 and $430 for basically the same muffler which IS very steep compared to what you paid. :surprised
Maybe ill give Supercheap and midas a call tommorrow and see if they have the lukey for a cheaper price....Its worth a shot i think....

Be sure to quote them a LR4-5597 Thats a rear assembly from the inter flange back, i have the exact same setup in my car and i can post a sound file tomorrow if you wish, note it will sound very slightly different as i have a blower strapped to the top of my motor.
They should be around 200+ postage, unless walker decided to do a Hike.
Also nemisis, was that just the rear box changed or all piping from cat back?

Its from the inter flange back. Mine was done at Tidd Bros exhausts on Hudsons rd Spotswood.
It might also be worth seeing if it is cheaper to source your own muffler from somewhere and get them to install it.

Yeah 270 is about right for that, the OP was talking full cat back which for 400 is about right, as they will need, piping, resonator, redo flange on cat, rear muffler + bending and labour.
With magnas there is no real gain from changing any of the piping except the rear box, if you plan extractors etc once you get them upgrade the cat then as well.

So if I were to buy a set of extractors (when i get more money), I would just need to replace the Cat converter and thats it? Or is there some piping leading from the extractors to the cat that i would also need to replace?

as i said previously, the berklee from midland mettams should be 320, as thats what me and a couple of others have been quoted, and i also have the berklee split from the single through a Y pipe to twin tips
but if you're set on the lukey, i have nothing to offer

So how are you finding your berkley? I havent really heard many people talk bout them so i thought i would go for the well known 'Lukey LR2779'. Is the berk droney at all?

i dont have any probldems with it, i dont fully understand what people mean by drone, but it doesnt bother me at all, and i think it sounds great when really gunned
people on here seem to go for the lukey a lot, but as far as im concerned nothing bad could be said for the berklee, mid noise factor probably, not too soft, not insanely loud

I got quoted 380 for a redback system fitted with tip so all these prices sound pretty fair.
