I dont suppose anyone knows the exact/proper name/part number for the battery clamp (plastic attachment) that screws down over the battery to stop it moving? (3rd gen, TJ2).
ie see pic (the foto is not a real battery, its the wet-paper-bag type battery that Fowles put in their auction cars).
(it would appear that mine was snapped and glued back together by the previous owners... and has finally snapped again.)
Thanks

well im assuming the hooks are still good. you just need to replace the plastic bit. Ring mits. if you explain it to them they will look it up. Battery Bracket to my knowledge..:) That battery looks like it belongs in my TV remote..:P

For starters, get the proper size battery
Secondly go to a self serve wreckers and get a clamp, can not see it being more than 5 bucks or so
Cable ties, that is funny, I too would love my battery to short and watch my car burn one day ..... not

You can usually buy full aftermarket battery clamps (made of plastic coated metal, who would have thought!) for about $15 as well.
Just an option. It's what i'm using on my Magna, works better than the stock clamp and looks better as well.
Otherwise check the self serve wreckers. No more than $5 from there, and you can find some pretty decent ones.

how will cable tieing your battery cause it to short and burn your car down??? come to think of it, my battery has been loose forever as i got the optima and the factory clamp don't fit ...
never had an issue except when dajaja decided to drop my 0ga ground onto the positive terminal one night.. it almost nocked me out and i was half inside the passenger door....

i thought it was clear...that is NOT the current battery.
prob now fixed with new non-mits clamp... i think that a couple of good heavy-weight zip ties in both directions would be a good idea when ur stuck for a clamp tho... its just gotta stop it moving around in the bay.
thx for the help guys.
