And before the resident trolls come along, yes i searched and plenty of threads on the sump plug being too tight or size of the head, but my issue is slightly different.

Was out attempting to do a full service on the new car today, and the sump plug will not undo, it just spins in the thread, the question is, how do i get it out without using a set of extractors?

Any help will be awesome.

You cant.

Its been overtightened (im guessing with a rattle gun).

You can drill it out, or, alternatively, take the sump off altogether - actually, this may be easier, go to a wrecker, buy a replacement sump with the sump plug, and swap sumps.

try a flat blade screwdriver between the bolt head and sump and lever when turing the plug. might be enough for it to catch and undo.

Awesome ill give that a go, its stupid though the car has done 4600k's and already has a shagged sump plug bolt heh.

I would prob go with the removing the sump personally. Alot easier to sort the issue and work on it while its on the bench in front of you. better than working upside sown under the car with limited space..:) You would only be up for a new seal and sort the plug drama. the rest is labour..

Goodluck.

You *may* need a new pan.

If the thread is so destroyed on the bolt, it may well have destroyed the thread on the sump. You can tap these out to next size up, but then you may need to run around finding the correct sized plug :)

Not sure if you tried this but with tough bolts I grab the angle grinder and make two notches then use a shifter to get it off......

Sounds like you got a good deal on a new sump though

Its not a tough bolt.. Its a bolt that just keeps turning and doesnt come out when he undoes it..:)

Yes, haha, it is turning the right way, it would go loose, then tightened back up.

It just has the 380 dials, those fluro blue ones out of the GT's
