Driving the car last night, cruising at about 100-110kmh on a slight incline under load my whole car just started to shudder, its not a small shudder I mean the whole car violently shakes, it felt like it was going to fall apart.

If I back off the accelerator or descending a hill it disapears, it doesnt do it all the time either. Its got me stumped, I know I need new shocks but I wouldnt have thought they were that bad yet. And its not the kinda thing you can really feel through the steering wheel either.

Anyone got any ideas? Had this problem before?
My dad has suggested it could be the inner CV joint causing it, but I wouldve thought if it was the CV it'd: a) do it all the time under load b) do it even down a hill under acceleration

Any advice appreciated...

sounds like CV's. Mine does the same.

Its looking that way, its most people opinions. Looks like there is a place based in sydney, $198 for a pair of full driveshafts with CV's. They are listed on ebay.

Well fitted the new KYB Struts and Pedders Springs with a whiteline swaybar today. Holy crap, what a difference. The old springs were as soft as soft(could compress them 3 inches by hand) 1 shock was leaking etc.
Seems to have fixed all my problems... Shudder is gone. Will get wheel alignment done tomorrow which should fine tune it a bit for me.

Now its like a new car, thanks go to Zeke for the gear at a great price.

Good to hear that you have fixed the problem,my brother had the exact same symptoms you had,and despite all the nay-sayers telling us CV`s or halfshafts cannot cause a vibration, after a new pair was fitted, all was fixed, this was after new tyres, trans service.mount reset etc

It is a faint possibility the problem is still there just hasnt reoccurred. It seemd to be a very intermittent problem, fingers crossed its gone. If it returns, itll be straight to the CV specialist for me, I was quoted $460 for both sides supply and fit for complete driveshafts(with 2 yr warranty).

Apparently its the inner CV that does it.

Will post if anything changes.
