Whenever i am travelling at speeds of under 10kph, i get this anoying high pitched squeeling from tyres... (This is when reversing and just driving slowly..) I noticed it was quite loud when i went through the HJ's drive through yesterday...arggrrg so looks like im gonna be spending some money on new brake pads i thinks.

What about checking the handbrake first? Might be worn.

Yeah mate. Wont be the tyres.. Tyres dont squeel..:)
Do a little test next time your in the car. get the car to make the noise and carefully grab the hand break and pull it up to about 1/4 slowly. You will find the noise will go away. Once you let the handbrake back down it will start again. What it is is the handbrake needs adjusting. Typical on issue..:)

I second this handbrake sounds like it might be to tight.

Yeah I'm gonna suggest handbrake too, I tightened mine up a few weeks ago and makes a similar noise, gotta get mine fixed up properly.

That always stops the noise for me till I put I park and drive off again.
(And Jason, love the avatar, I'm sure your car is smiling at the prospect of hauling its own ass around lol)

aha! I Will check that tommorrow!! :D
But I have a feeling that it isnt the handy being too tight because recently i have noticed my handbrake going more slack (Can pull it up alot easier and higher...and doesnt grip unless quite high) ....after it was tightened around 2 months ago in a service)...hrmmm
Anyway i will be sure to check the handy tommorrow morn!
Handbrake cables are a servicable part.
Once they get some slack in them, you can adjust that, however, its just a steel cable, it stretches, so sooner or later you need to buy a new cable.
