Anyone experienced front brake pad graunch noises? It happens in the first couple of revolutions of wheel movement, forwards and backwards and only happens when car has been sitting for at least 5 minutes. Mitsi dealer keeps saying they have fixed it but soon as I leave their carpark it's still there. Hmmm... Guys at work (MMAL) don't know much about it either (if they don't know who does???) but I have driven a few of the fleet cars which exhibit the same thing. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I get this on my Lancer atm. Just till the disk/pads warm up then its fine.
My mechanic reckons its because the pad compound is the harded type.

Its a pain in the arse nonetheless.

it's common... nothing wrong. you will find can actually induce it by releasing the brake pedal progessively until you hear that grunching noise and you hold it there. even mercs and beemers have em... not to worry buddy
