I got my new 2.5" catback Lukey LR2779 installed yesterday on my TF Magna :D
It is a touch loud and ricy for me when i put the foot down...but i really like the grumble it has on idle....
But i spose i can fix that with a hotdog right? The guy at the shop said he would stick in a hotdog for $60 (he isnt going to charge for labour apparently..) The exhaust also makes the car feel and rev differently!! I stalled the car yesterday (Straight after exhaust was put on) for the first time in like 6 months! :O

I have only driven around 50 kms but the exhaust seems to be moving around a little under the car. Whenever i go over a bump on the road, i feel the car move up and down....and then the exhaust separately... It Goes 'clunk' and i can feel it through the car.
This also seemed to happen last night when i did a sharp U turn. Almost like it was twisting.

I have taken a look under the car and it all looks pretty secure.. so dont know what it is! (Maybe the tip is hitting the rear of the car?)

Is this something that everybody with an aftermarket exhaust has? OR is it just my exhaust?

the banging definately isn't right. Mine never hits anything (unless I have mounted a concrete divider again )

I suggest you check the rubber mounts for the muffler are not too slack and allowing it to swing around.

I can't comment on your other problem regarding sound, but i do know that a brand new muffler needs to bed in over a period of time. It may get quieter as the baffles expand and contract

ahh ok i might have to do that then!

Also i forget to mention that there is a real 'burning' smell after around an hour of driving with the new muffler on.. Is this just because i am still breaking in the exhaust?

Yeah the burning smell is normal, it'll go within a week.
When I had mine done I had a little metalic rattle during idle, took it back, turned out to be a loose heat shield.
Does the noise sound like it's coming from the middle or rear of car?
Is yours press bent or mandrel?
If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay?
And yes it does sound awesome idling with that low grumble and sounds awesome when belted from inside the car:D

mine was welded to my body, but the burning smell does go. Car does get alot better just give it about 2 tanks of petrol. Now after having mine about 2 months mine isn't loud enough. :(

From the looks of the quote and the price it's press bent.
Mine cost $550 with mandrel bends, resonator, lukey muffler and 3" dump.
Easy way to find out is to look under the rear and look at a bend, if it looks 'kinked on the inside of the bend then its press bent, and if it's mandrel then the bend looks equal and is welded before and after the bend.
Here is a pic of mine, this one is mandrel bent so should give an idea,

hmmm..I just checked mine

All of the bends look really even?! But there is no welding on the bends so it must be press? But it is not 'kinked'. Looks evenly bent???

Hrmmm...

Cheers, got it painted while the made it, looks factory that way.
Some press bends are hard to notice, but sure fire way is to measure the circumfrance of the exhaust before the bend then measure the bend.
Mandrel is even all round while press is smaller is diameter.

Ohh ok! So this means mandrel are better as they are more free flowing right?

also..How easy is it to change exhaust tips once they are welded on? Because i was really wanting dual dumpy's but as the place didnt have these i didnt specify which one i wanted and they put a diff tip on.....

Correct, hence why they are more expensive and take time to make.
Most factory cars have the press bent as it's cheap to mass produce, but companies like Audi, BMW and the like you will find use mandrel on their higher end performance cars, ala RS6, M5.
Then you start getting to the more excotic like titanium as it's lighter and dissapates heat better.
Plus the less bends you have the freer flowing it is to

Normally the tips are just tack welded on so they just heat and cut the tack, remove, replace, weld and your done.

Press bend vs Mandrel Bend - for the majority of applications, press bend is just fine. Nothing wrong with it.

Excactly, I was willing to spend the extra cash for it, absolutely nothing wrong with press bend

I would say for a normal street driven car flow loss from a restrictive muffler makes mandrel versus bent insignificant (i.e. not worth worrying about)...also any bend less than 90 degrees is also minimal difference (unless you like spending money)...
