Howdy,
Noticed one of my wiper blades is starting to tear, and was wondering if anyone here had recommendations on some good wipers/blades? Or should I just get the factory ones from mitsubishi?
Cheers

best replacement blades i have EVER seen are the Bosch Aero Twins.. It replaces the whole mounting arm on the wiper arm itself with a slimline piece with the blade built in..
they are standard on a lot of new cars these day (more so euro cars like BMWs, merc etc) but they are bloody good..
about $24 each side though from supercheap ..
I have converted everyone in my family to them..

Bosch Aerotwin - I've had mine for a year and they've only just started to get streaky. Cost a bit more than the standard crap but so much better.
You can pick them up from now until the 31st for $17.90 @ Bursons.

Indeed, I converted Nemesis, Lugo, Onkytonk, Mohit and I think one more, And then Nemesis converted his family to them aswell.
Awesome wipers.

Fantastic wipers, and as stated earlier same type as fitted to most European cars and the VE Commodores.
Definately the Bosch Aerotwin as mentioned. They are very effective in clearing the heaviest of downpours with ease, and also long lasting.

I was originally thinking of getting some of those tri-blade wipers, but I think I'll follow everyone's advice and try out the bosch aerotwins.
Thanks everyone.
Without sounding repetitive - Bosch Aerotwin are the best, and if you can wait, places like supercheap or repco will do a specials on them every now and then...I have them installed on all of my cars. Chuck the Mitsi standard ones in the bin.

Do these Bosch ones replace the black part at the bottom that always gets eaten away and looks horrible on Magnas?

nah, just the bit on the end of the arm that holds the blade in.. you know the bit with all the little holders that you slide the blade thru that get bent and catch all the bugs and stuff..
I even put them on my $400 daihatsu mira.. only because i had to buy a new windscreen for it.. they work the best in that out of any car i have used them on..
Mums new CJ lancer - the standard blades used to grab like buggery even when brand new, put aero twins on and its all good although on the return swipe on the drivers side it doesnt clear the screen completely in the middle of the blade.. Tried a new blade and still no luck.. not sure what the go is with that..

Give the blade a good clean with a rag and some windex. It'll come up good.

tried that.. tried everything..
Im guessing its something to do with the galss itself because i have even polished it, cleaned it, sealed it, rain-xed it.. everything.. still misses on the return swipe in the middle of the blade.. leaves a slight streak about 4 inches wide..
the glass is also very pitted and i can see the swipe marks from the wipers - it seems very soft for glass.. just like the rest of the lancer (material quality wise)

Go for those silicone based blades. Super Crap sells them. They work well on the paj and the wifes car. Had them on for the last year and they still wipe like the day i bought them. They come in pretty colors too lol. I bought white ones not pink....

Hehe well I might as well add in that I have the Bosch aero-twins and they are bloody good. Haven't had to change the blades yet, but I am pretty sure you can just get standard blades and replace the ones in the aero-twin if that makes sense. Should be a lot cheaper, and then you can also choose the actual blade that you want.
As for the grabbing issue, it could be due to the RainX, it seems to sometimes cause problems. I would rub the windscreen with alcohol to make sure everything is off, and then rub a claybar all over the windscreen to make it nice and smooth. Probably worth wiping it down again with alcohol. Then with some new blades, which you should clean everytime you wash the car, and it should rectify any problems.

Go for those silicone based blades.I got some the other day, put them on both of our cars, seems that they wipe too well, when it's lightly raining or you want to wash your windscreen they squeal like a mofo!

I used to sell hundreds of them
pros - FANTASTIC Refill, great value for money
cons - they can squeak HORRIBLY, not just a little squeek, but a horrible squeak. so you take the risk, some people got refunds on them because they were THAT bad, going from many years of experience of selling the pricks on a daily basis :P
In the end, To customers who would lash out and take my advice on the aerotwins, would usually come back to buy more sets. I had one guy who loved them so much when he got a brand new car he came in, saw me, and got me to fit another set, he was ravin on about em so much lol
But yeah silicon ones are great cause they dont crack wither fade or peel due to the effects of rubber in the sun, but like i said, if they sqeuak, be prepared.
edit**** there we go RoGuE answered it for me

I've tried the silicone ones (called "Big Clear", but are white in appearance) and they are pretty good, but do have the "squeak" issue on both cars - not that bad, just consider the squeak a "windscreen wipers are on reminder" mod.
So, at the mo I have the "OMFG White Wipers on White TJ" mod, as well as the "OMFG White Wipers on a 'Cocoon' KJ" mod. However, whenever these buggers crap-out it seems I'll have to give the Bosch Aero-Twins a run!
I LOOOVE this forum for recommendations such as this. Wouldn't have given a rear sway bar the slightest thought, until I read genuine recommendations in here.... I have a Whiteline rear bar on Verada and altho had a problemo with it hitting the genuine suspension, that is all sorted by the company now and the Verada handles much more like the Sports!!! Happy driver here! Yay AMC !

Where else can these be had? tried bursons here, they didn't have any, the repco guy had never heard of them and wanted to sell me another type of arm (broke the end of my drivers wiper arm on christmas eve) not gonna bother with autobarn and cbf'd driving 40 minutes each way to supercheap.

If you dont want to drive to a SCA, you can order from there website, and it woulds out cheaper then what it is on shelf as well.

Just went and got a set of the AeroTwins for my Verada. My god, I never thought I'd get so excited over wiper blades, but man these are brilliant! So quiet, they look awesome (apart from the stupid wiper arm that needs repainting), and they wipe away the water like nothing else - brilliant, and thanks for the recommendation!

I think I will have to check these out too.
I just fitted Tridon Flex Blades to my Magna and one of the best blades I've ever used.

a quick search on google returned this result:

much neater in appearance than the ghastly traditional wiper arms/brackets used on magnas etc IMO
