Found this out by accident.

Easiest way to clean windows inside cars - Polyglaze waterless wash.

Gets rid of that film build up that makes it impossible to see with oncomming cars/light. Its streak free aswell - makes the job so easy.

Thought I'de share this with the rest of the Magna Folk.

Its a spray that you use to clean your car. 'Waterless wash' by Polyglaze.

Never ended up using it on the outside of the car (during water restrictions). Ran out of window cleaner, so tried it. Works better than windex lol

Not sure about tints, it *should* be ok, its a very mild detergent. It says on the spray bottle its Non Abbrasive.

I got told by my tinting company to not wash it with anything except water.

So how are you meant to get grease or grime/film build up from tinted windows?

In eithercase - this was just a tip, use at your own peril - personally I think its brilliant.

As long as you make sure you avoid using cleaners with ammonia in its base for tinted film as it will break it down over time... apart from not really being the best thing to inhale.

They just keep saying just to use warm water, cloth and a mild cleaner. For your front windshield afaik you really only usually have the tint in the upper section of the window, so you might get away with something a bit stronger.

Thanks ers for the brilliant tip...I use it on the outside of the car, never thought of using it on the inside of windows. Well done.

Another tip I found, is to use "Preen" to clean mag wheels, spray it on, leave it for a few minutes, and wipe it off while wet, its not harsh, brake dust comes off with one single wipe. It works out cheaper than buying auto mag wheel cleaner. One spray pack is $4 and last many applications.

best window cleaner ive ever found is Merguires NXT window wash + newspaper. Totally streak free and leaves the inside good for around 3 months before it starts to haze again

agree with u, if u use any window cleaner even water+newspaper the result will be fantastic but u cant use newspaper on a tint will scratch it
the guy who tinted my car gave me to ways to clean...1st 20%methol 80% water 2nd Mr sheen....
whichs i never tried both... i only use warm water n it does the job
IMO water is the safest way to clean ur tint :D

The blue cloth is amazing. I just clean my windows with a slightly moist Chux rag, then wipe off the excess with the cloth. Cheap and easy, doesn't hurt the tint, and comes out completely streak-free.

This has worked the best for me - I've tried a Meguiars glass cleaner as well as newspaper (only on the outside though) and both have left streaks :/

Like what was mentioned earlier.... Don't use ammonia on tints.... fast way to have them break down...

I use Mr Sheen.... helps stop the fog too when raining.....
Other wise just a moist chamois.....

Been using water-diluted metho and old, soft, napisan (no residues!) washed t-shirt. Works quite well, but not always - I shall try these other tricks next time.
But - NEVER use any kind of paper on tints!!! Paper is of timber and should not be used on tints, camera lenses, projectors etcetc stuff. Trust me! Rub paper on your face, and u'll feel how abrasive it can be. Unless you're a harda**, seasoned, 7-oceans, sea-wind blasted, cowhide skinned, whisky drinking 100 yr old skipper of course. :P

CRC glass cleaner is a good one to, it comes in a big blue spray bottle from most servos. you only have to use a very little spray per window amd it takes everything off, oil even.

I just rubbed a piece of paper all over my face, can't say im any worse off.

I use Eagle one 20/20 window cleaner (safe for tints) with a blue microfibre class cloth, cleans all the residue and hazing crap really well. And then for a shiny streak free clean, I have another water bottle with straight water that I mist on the glass, then rub and dry it off quickly with a thicker softer microfibre cloth that drys the glass completely, no streaking.

Get some very good results from this, even from a very dirty windscreen. I hate driving with a dirty windscreen, and find it very dangerous, especially in sun. Which reminds me, I might go clean mine now :P

MrSheen is fantastic, always has been

The tint int he screen top is in the laminate so does not matter what you use as will never come in contact with the cleaner

ummm are we talking about the same Mr Sheen I am thinking about? As in the furniture polish that has the little dude on it that looks like Kevin Rudd?

Surely that would smear to buggery and leave a horrid film on the window that would only attract dust, cigarette smoke etc.

I'm not sure I'm too keen on giving it a go.

One thing I HATE doing, with a passion, is cleaning windows. But, with cleaning and detailing many cars week in week out, the best way I have found to clean windows is to spray them with my window cleaner of choice (one with added ammonia for normal windows or one thats ammonia free for tinted windows) very thoroughly and (if not tinted) give a very light rub over with some 0000 grade steel wool. I then use 2 glass microfibre cloths, one to wipe the majority of the cleaner off, the other for the final buff to bring the glass to a smear free finish.

If it is my car, I prefer not to use any window cleaners or chemicals at all. I will only use them if I have to remove a registration label or a service reminder lable, then I will wipe over the with a microfibre window cloth that has been soaked in warm/hot water then wrung out, and then buff off with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.

Keeps my windows clean forever basically because the only time I have to clean the interior windows is when I have cleaned the dash and door trims and have smeared the windows in the process.
