changed the rocker cover gaskets, as they had a small leak, but after running the engine its weaping right at the join!
will they leak if the covers are done too tight?
I know they are not ment to be too tight, around 11Nm i believe

What engine? If it is an older 3.0 V6, then the problem is not with the gaskets - its with the crankcase ventilation system. Let us know what engine we are talking about and I will give you more details re fix.

if you check his ride thread it's the 3.0L engine.

to the OP: ok. Weeping rocker cover gaskets on th 3.0 has been covered on other threads. Try SEARCH!!
if you check his ride thread it's the 3.0L engine.
He is actually in the middle of a 3.5 5sp conversion, could be the 3.5.

Gotta be careful when changing these gaskets, cause if not the gasket gets pinched, especially the rear bank which will still cause a leak. Just gotta make sure the gasket is seated properly in the rocker cover then when back on the car before you tighten, do a visual check toensure its all good.
Did the same with my old TH, changed, still leaked, removed, pinched, fix, replace all done.
This also might be the problem.

Make sure the rocker cover section that the gasket sits in is nice and tight, may have to tap the inside plate in to ensure is tight as if they have been over tightened in the past they will spread.
Also make sure that the balance pipe and the fittings (lhs of engine) are all very clear as these do block however having said this they will not leak at idle if the crankcae venting system is blocked, more at revs
