Hi Guys, I was hoping someone might be able to help me, I have a 96 TE Magna, the other day I was taking my girl into town, parked the car, came back not 5 mins later, and some one had ripped the right mirror off my car, now im not talking about the whole thing, just the mirror itself. My question is, can you buy just the mirror from somewhere, after I got home I had a look at the left side mirror, and realised that the mirror just pops straight off, less than two seconds and someone could have it. I would have thought that Mitsubishi would have come up with something better than a mirror that just clips into place. If you know of somewhere I could find just the mirror part, please let me know. I would also like to know your thoughts on the way the mirror just clips in.
Thanks in advance!!!

The mirror is a massive PITA to clip back in, I tried 6 times and broke 6 mirror replacement lenses.
I would just go wreckers and get another mirror unit as a whole.
BUT for the time being you can go super cheap and for about $13 get a mirror thats actually plastic and you can cut it to size and just stick it there as a temp replacement.

thats funny that you say that, because i pulled the left side one off when i got home and it just clipped back on, in a couple of seconds. Thanks for the super cheap idea, I had no idea they had that.
Any other ideas appreciated.

Yeah? Must be a completely different setup to 2nd gens, probably should of mentioned that.
on the 2nd gens there is a ball joint in the middle, with two holes, one on the top? and one on the right? on the back of the mirror is two kind of "pegs" which have to be held together and pushed into these two holes for the motors to grab onto and move.

That is why your car is not going mate, 7 years bad luck for each morror broken.....
As above, go to a wrecker and grab yourself a replacement

replacement mirrors are $20 tops from parts department and a piece of cake to install on a 3rd gen. I did mine after buying a new one in one minute

Druggies steal anything they can get a hold of for quick money. My sister had her rear vision mirror swiped from her suzuki swift (the old box ones), that was it, just the mirror. That or some idiots screwing around... These days, anything could have happened. Just be glad it was only a mirror!
