Best place to mount them, i drill 3 holes in a little metal lip on the side and cable them to that from behind.
Front and rear ones, Sort of a guess, where ever you best see fit to cable tie them too.
Best place to wire it? I just tapped into an ACC line for my undercar installs.
I will be re-doing mine when i have time with a relay though.

Are you using neons or LED's?

using neons um also i got told the mountion clips you get arent strong and i should buy brass ones are cable ties going to hold them also what about hiding the wires howd you do that. and how long did it take you to install them

'Use cable ties, they are fine, personally would not bother installing neons but thats my preference, LED's all the way.
Hide the wires? well.....just run it along whatever you see fit, not rocket science....just wherever the wire hides.
There are 2 grommets where the drivers and passengers feet are which allows you to shove the wires up through them and into the cabin.

TUffTR can tell you all about making sure they're secure! lol

I recon cable tie's would be the best go without have to screw anything! They can hold like crazy, better than most of the standard mounting clips I've seen.

Cable tie the wiring too - and don't be shy - you don't want the wiring catching on anything whilst ur driving.

And like TUFF said, running through a relay is a good idea.

"Anytime you want to switch a device which draws more current than is provided by an output of a switch or component you'll need to use a relay".

Now as stupid as this sounds, I actually didnt do this, and it bit me in the ass.
Use THREE Cable ties OR MORE along the side of the car, because kids what happens if say your doing 130km/s and one decides to break off? OHHHH Thats right it skips merrily along the road for 5 minutes before you realise what it is!

So use 3 or more, that way, if one breaks, you still have at least 2 cable ties holding it on. Use the thickest cable ties you can dont use that skinny BS they give you with the neons.

Edit* I tapped mine off constant power from the HU, use em when your outside via the remote :)

Laugh, then spent the next 10 minutes on the side of the road disconnecting it from the main board with all the LED sticks plugged into it under the centre console watching the truck I just overtook in a haste then overtake me again! Talk about being owned.
So yeah, lesson learnt

i feel bad for you, but also thanks for the heads up.

also, thanks for the info about the grommets! i never would have found them. i had trouble finding a grommet for my amp's power cable so i ran it under the panelling then snuck it in through the door frame.

A cable tie can hold 1 tonne. No need for 3.

Definately run relays, not off headlights.

Draw power from the battery. Run to fuse box, count how many amps the current draw is on all your neons, and find the closest sized fuze (say its 2.8amps total, use a 3amp fuse).

Trigger off your headlights is ok, you can tap into the power wire for the headlights (or parkers), and use this as the relay trigger.

On the relay earth, have a switch so you can turn these off. Simple on/off switch will suffice, this way they wont always be on.

Its not about the weight of the tube, its the friction against the cable tie from movements from the rod as the car is driven around.

So definitely 3 cable ties. Unless you want your tube flopping around like a **** in a sock.

why not use a metal hose clamp? not going to break or slip that ****.

If you install it correctly, there is no movement, hence why a cable tie is used.

Anywho moving right along......

Well you install a 1 meter long tube held in place with ONE cable tie, I see a tube that will sway and hit the road left to right :P

You use 3, so when one breaks, which it will (as I've had happen and I'm using the biggest cable ties around) there is still 2 holding onto it.

You cant use a metal hose clamp because of the way its mounted....
Install a set and then see

Thats why you use two ties, one at each end.....

Your neons probably fell off because you hit the nawzzz bro and was granny shifting....

No one fell "down" (Not off really) Because stupid lazy me even though I told others to use 3 cable ties only had 2 :P

Which lucky it was the rear one, cause it it was the front one it would of jackknifed up and smashed and could of caused a bit of damage

But anyhoo.
