View Full Version : Third resinator in snorkel?
Hey guys,
I came across this while changing my thermostat and doing the spice lid mod, established the TH has 3! yes 3! resonators!
So, just wondering which other models have these? Apparently TL+ only has the 1, so do the TE,F,and J have this as well?

TE,TF and TH have the 3rd reso, and KJ's as well as mohit had one.

That being said, easiest way would be to get a TL snorkel right provided it fits?

There you go about halfway down and you can see his drainpipe CAI connected to it, and his is a KJ.

I remember seeing someone take the resonator off and attach a pipe leading to the lower grille for another intake.

That actually looks like quite a good idea, might try that out instead of a resonatorless snorkel, just pop a pipe on it for a CAI :)

Or just wait like a bit until i can get down to the local fab shop and look at getting the Ledgenary pod boxes back in business.

Now that sounds quite tempting, prices are going to be a bit high though arent they, and the oval pod isnt exactly cheap... Suppose to be saving atm for a TL VRX 5sp :P
Would love a perspex pod box like the skylines have available :)

Yeah probably not in perspex as im not that skilled at plastic welding
To be honest i really dont know at this stage i only just got hold of a box to look at and am going to see a few mates at a fab shop to see if they can knock up some in SS and what the costing will be like.

Credit for that goes to Sprintex. It was part of their S/C kit to feed more air into the engine.

Yeh it's a good idea. Even standard/semi modded engines would benefit, the current opening feels very restrictive when pushing the motor.

My Series 1 TJ Sports has all three resonators. One on the underside of the snorkel and 2 on the rubber flex pipe after the air filter.

I did mine similar a couple of years ago...... here it is http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37867
My TH did not have a resonator there, but my TJ has. Maybe it is an AUTO thing

Working on it, getting detailed photos sent off to a few companys now to see if it is viable for either aluminium boxes or getting vac moulds made for plastic units
