one of the glass lenses on my parras has a foggy look to it because i got cheap ebay crystal visions (never again) and it burnt out and got its foggy look to it. i know how to take out the head light assembly and i've taken off the metal clips that hold the glass but i just cant take the glass away from the plastic baking because its glued there or something. anyone know the easiest way to remove it or can i pour a bit of glass cleaner or metho in there and swirl it around?

You can remove the lense from the light but is is a very hard thing to do without damage. If you do get it apart, you need to make sure that you get it all sealed up again too

Most members recommend an oven or heat gun to melt to glue, but if you use either for too long you'll damage something for sure.

Ive also had success leaving them in the sun on the concrete on a hot day. This was unintentional but the heat did cause the light to come apart.

nah probably not if you get phillips or another well known brand but mine cost me $25 off ebay and went through about three sets cos they kept blowing within the 3 week warranty

Been using Phillips crystal vision for 2 years now, no issues at all.

It's only the cheap, ****ty non-UV shielding bulbs that damage polycarbonate lens headlight assemblies. Genuine Philips bulbs are UV shielded.

yeah it can be done just go to super cheap auto or a similar shop and get yourself some long handle long nose pliers you can get them straight and bent and they work a treat

i've done this to fix condensation, just used the oven (with the door slightly open so it didn't get too hot) and slowly opened a bit at a time, in and out of the oven periodically to make sure it didn't melt or anything!

Parabolic Headlights.... they are the cool shiny reflective lights found on Verada and VRX models of Magnas. They come in 1 piece (with indicators included) or 2 piece (separate indicators)

So you should have them.....

Welcome to AMC by the way!!!

Actually you missed a couple models (well more like half the range).

All TL's had paras (Sharkeye paras), then quite a few TJ's did too.

With paras:

- KE-KW Verada
- TJ Sports, VR-X, Ralliart, AWD, and LE
- TL-TW Magna

And exec lights:

- TE-TH all models
- TJ Exec, Advance, Solara, V6 Si, Commonwealth Games Edition, and Altera

Any idea how long it took per headlight? Seems a good time to put in angle eyes

They'd be aftermarket, the entire TE-TH ranges came with exec headlights (the KE-KJ had them all the way through though), only the TJ series introduced paras on higher spec models.

I did it to take reflectors out of my indicators, put your oven on 50 degrees

1. Make 1 coffee
2. Make cheese toasted sandwich

Should be ready by then..... you will feel the glue around the adged going gooey and you can start to pull it apart, dont force it - just put it back in if you need to and then it should come apart fairly easily

i would use a heat gun, and work around it slowly with a flat head screwdriver, prying it apart, as the glue softens, especially if you never tried it before. much less to go wrong, than sticking it in an oven.
ask wolllongong verada (mark) i think he wrecked a few indicators that way. lucky that cheaper than parras
