That would be a blocked/colapsed cat.

Just get a hi-flow cat, they dont cost that much these days.

Ok just took catalitic converter out and looks fine both sides. Gave it a shake no rattles.? Very wierd dont understand why it would smell like that and lack balls all of a sudden

Strange.

Normally you would see it deform at either end, if not both.

It *could* be collapsed in the middle.

The only way to check is to chuck on another cat converter and see if the smell comes back or if you power is back to normal. Though, you probably dont keep a spare cat :P

sounds like you could be running too lean due to a buggered O2 sensor... would explain the poor performance and the smell with your cat being intact.

Mmmm mine really stinks at time. I always believed it was the petrol i was running. I might look into get my extractors soon rather than later.

Would it be anything else other than 02 sensor making it run lean cause i have replaced the 02 sensor.

hmm i'm not entirely sure but I guess that's ruled out. Unless the replacement sensor was busted as well?

I had a similar problem with mine and found that running premium fuel I would get the smell much less often. apparently due to the higher sulfur content in the regular unleaded.
