Not for a Magna but for my brother's Mazda 323.
We've been having a problem with his 323, when it's cold it seems to want to try and stall, once warmed up it's right. We've managed to narrow it down to one or two things, temp sensor or more likely the oxygen sensor. Tested the MAF and that's working properly.
He has to drive to Brisbane tomorrow (yes, late notice) so should it be right to drive? Keeping in mind once its warmed up it doesn't present any problems, the only problem I can forsee is worse fuel economy.

What year model 323? if its the earlyish model one (same motor as the telstar) then it wont present an issue at all

1998 Mazda 323... After discussing aforementioned problem with a mechanic friend of mine we've decided it's probably neither of those two things... FRUSTRATING. GAH.

the idle control valve? if its broken it may not realise to up the idle when the car is cold. Its usually on the Throttle usualy underneath and has coolant lines running to it (this is how the car knows its cold/hot) the device is known as a fww things, usualy IACV, ICV

while not related to the question at hand, let him know that the road isnt the greatest from Sarina to Gin Gin -the later half isnt too bad, but its not the best.
the rain on the highway over the last week or so has made lovely delicious potholes to fall into.
i cant see it being a problem - as once its warm, itl run fine?
why is he leaving it till the day before for "oh the car has a problem what could it be?"
