I saw pics of it a while ago on here - the subs were mounted where the back brake lights are - was it singergy?

Can someone point me to these pics again?
Much appreciated!

The install itself is two mdf boxes custom made for type r 12" sub. False floor, the spare tyre is still there.

har har, I work in IT Tech Support, i know what your saying though...

The camera is not charging, I tried new batteries but still not charging which means it's either a faulty docking station or camera. I had to send it back to Kodak, which will take 10 working days :(

SiNERGY

thanks :)

Spare tyre is no probs, just lift the black bit up and have full access to tyre and tools.

Also having the subs there make the sound much better :)

do you get any boot vibrations? cos my boot makes the uglest noise when its closed and pumpin.. hmm.. also i think i have a loose screw on the rear bar cos the rear bar is rubbin up against something cos it rattles unless i apply pressure on it :-k

hmmm.

Man I get all sorts of noises, some are very scary!

Inside the car is sounds awesome, I would say it's about 140db+ and it's very very clear sound.

But outside is a different story, not that i'm fussed, as long as it's clear inside.

I thinks its imbarrising driving by people when your boot is making all sorts of un-natural noises. I went to the trouble of of ripping appart my whole boot and siliconing and padding anything that moves. Now all you hear is a crisp sharp thump.

I actually think it is quite funny to pull up at the lights and hear all this vibrating and no bass - have done it a fair bit!!!

correct me if i wrong but by having vibrations dont u loose spl?
because the sound energy is transferred into making the panel move and lowers the spl reading?

Manual
05-06-2003, 06:03 PM
yep!!

thats why sound deadening is good!!

Yer sound deadening does increase SPL and SQ.

But it also adds weight!

has anyone ever thought about using that expanding foam they use in recording studios? i helped build our schools studio and we used the seallys stuff from bunings, worked a treat and was pretty cheap.

gotta run folks

WOOT! mine is almost finished. I have the boxes and floor in, and the amps all mounted up and cabled etc - i just have to carpet it up and make a panel to flush mount the amps.
I have the speaker boxes in the same location but instead of having the amps in the floor i have mounted them one on each side of the ski hole, and im going to flush mount them there :)

:D

It CRANKS :)

OMG!!! I thought your car looked familiar. I saw it there when it was getting done 'cause I did mine in a similar way (mine was in there probably about 2 weeks after yours!) :D

hey can you upload Pics!?

how much did they charge you to do a custom install like that?
cos it took two of us about 20 hours all up to fabricate it up - thats a lot of labour

Ummm...yeah...I don't know anyone with a digital camera or scanner.... so that might be a bit of problem! If I can find someone who'd be willing to take some pics, then sure...no worries :)

I'm not sure on the exact price, but it wasn't that expensive. (although I'd done a lot of it myself). I can look it up later.

MagnaLE

GuRu

so for $450ish they basically constructed that entire enclosure from scratch including mounting all of your amps and making up the boxes and securing them etc? thats a damn good price :)

MagnaLE
13-08-2003, 09:43 AM
Yep...they gave me a prettty good price :)
