Hey all,

When I try to use my air con it wont come out of the front vents (the ones underneath the front window) nor does it come out of the side vents very well (3rd gen btw)

A mate suggested the pipes going to the aircon and another suggested blockages (I did have an ant colony in there at one point, turn on the air con and the bastard came flying out)

Anyway I can check on either of those?

Also does anyone know of somewhere good in brisbane I can get the air con regassed - Apparantly you can get aerosols in the US and do it yourself...but you can't import aerosols too well

Try the "Tech Torque" forum in here, and look for a "workshop manual" sticky thread. there are links in that thread to downloadable PDF files of the genuine Mitsi workshop manual. Download the files.

Air-Con/Heather is chapter 55 and you can have a read through and try their "troubleshoot" sections.
Could be a cable or linkage out of adjustment, not letting air-selector divert air to "demist" (windscreen) vents.
There are seperate sections for manual and climate-control air-con, by the way.

I'm wondering if maybe your car has had coolant leaking from heater core before - quite common in 3rd gens (tho I hope I don't get to deal with it) - and maybe whoever pulled the core to replace coolant seals didn't reinstall all the heater control linkages correctly (just speculation).

i know this may be vague but my air con comes out from certain vents weak.
i told my old man who fiddled around with something above the pedals and then it was back to full strength.
