You didnt let the speaker wires touch when there was power running did you?
It might not seem like much but when a speaker circuit is completed with no speaker it creates a 0 ohm circuit which causes some components in the HU to fry. Clarion HU are known for having this problem. Alpine and Eclipse have circuits built in to prevent this occuring but the cheaper clarion decks do not.
Apart from that the only thing that could be wrong i could think of is the HU is faulty or all your speakers are faulty or prehaps, tho unlikely the HU is not grounded proply.

doest it have a switch to turn-off internal amp like alpine's do? could be one of the problem imo...

causes some components in the HU to fry.
dont some come with a fuse on them for this sorta situation?

yes it should have a fuse but unfortunatly it doesnt protect the circuits from this kind of situation. A friend of mine tried to install their own clarion HU and this happened. The upper priced Calrions have the same kinda protection as the Alpine and Eclipse circuits but not the lower priced ones. Anyway thats IF this is what has happened which only disco_dave will know.

Well my clarion has a Line in line out switch.
Line out running speakers off the H/U
Line In running amps through the H/U RCA Leads.

thats nice isnt it.
but it doesnt really help disco with his problem.

in what way doesnt it help pseudo?
if it is switched to the Line in then no sound would come out of the speakers cos it is waiting for the sound to go through an amp.

Umm i dont think that has line in line out. It is one of the older model clarions,
Best bet, take it to a tech and get it checked out.
Good Luck

well if certain components are fryed, which is sounds like they might be, then it might almost be cheaper to buy a HU rather than repair this one. How much did you get this one for anyway?
