At random times my cars pc makes 2 sets of 3 beeps and then flashes the engine time on the screen.

What is it?

by car PC im assuming you to mean the trip computer?

and time - is it flashing 2hours at you?
sounds like it *could* be the rest reminder for the Trip computer - if yours has a trip computer with rest reminder in it?

What is it?

It is the trip computer resetting, it can only hold a certain amount of memory - once it reaches 17 hours driving or something like that it automatically resets and advises you by beeping :)

If you reset it regularly (by holding the MODE button, it will never happen).

The trip computer in my KJ beeps at 19hrs 55min and resets when it hits 20hrs

Mohit prob got the times right, I never paid attention :P I just know it was double digits.

tj does the same thing at the same time. Usually scares the crap out of me!!

I remember reading somewhere on here that the earlier trip computers had a shorter time before it resets. Mine definitely is much longer than 20 hours, 199hours or so. I've only had it beep 3 times since new and its done 67000kms.

Just reset all the functions of your trip computers (ie, both trip meters, the avg fuel, avg speed, rest reminder, total time etc) every time you fill up your car and it will never beep at you..

Think the rest function only came out in the TL's as my TJ advance doesn't have it, yet my gf's TL does, however, I've never heard either of them beep before, and the TL still has the 15k or so showing in the "trip" section" since she bought it last year.

Yea i normally reset it anyways. its good to know that. i beeps at 19.55

the rest reminder gets reset everytime the car is started
so unless you drive for over 2 hours straight it wont beep
oh and you know you can turn it off to ;)
