hey guys
some of you may know i had a cracked oil filter bracket not to long ago
now ever since it has been fixed the car sounds completely different
doesnt have the nice beefy sound it used to, it sounds tearable now im ashamed to drive it :(
just wanna know what type of things would cause this to happen?
im thinking theres a hole somewhere, as theres a nice rust patch on one of the joins plus instead of the water drips out the tip of the muffler from condensation i noticed that it was dripping from the rust patch or around the area
which lead me to believe that theres a hole
going down to my exhaust shop tomorrow to see when they can inspect/repair it
anyone have any other theory's?
cheers rob

I would say it's almost certainly a hole.. i have a gaping crack in mine, and is sounds like a 4 cylinder Hyundai excel with an 8 inch muffle
i.e. poo.

Edit: though depending on the size & location will vary what sound you're getting. Though perhaps your tuning was mucked up when they oil filter bracket was changed? (no idea why it would have been though?)

Not possible I dont think for your tuning to be changed by an oil outlet...correct me if I am wrong though
Sounds like a hole....just get under the car with a good light and have a good look for holes

had alook at the rear of the car where theres afew welds in that area
the place it got done was not so good at there workmanship and are now closed
so i'll just get it look at asap

also should i get the stock resonator taken out while im at it?

i have this same problem right now. Hence ordering a redback cat back tonight. Magna exhausts are known to rust out in the centre muffler/resonator area...

My resonator cracked at both ends and gave it a horrible sound. I got it replaced with a hotdog and after it wore in it gaves a much beefier sound, lovin it.

it could be your ignition timing if that was touched when fixing your bracket?
even a slight adjustment can change your exhaust note

dont think i touch anything to do with the ignition
i think theres a hole somewhere as i can hear air escaping as i accelerate, but that might be the pod but doesnt sound like it
anyways she goes up on the hoist on monday for a better look see

well cars just been up on the hoist and they guys found nothing wrong with it
there thinking that its just a carbon build up in the exhaust
anyone have any other ideas?
the problem with the exhaust is that it drones more on acceleration, seems to idle ok
goes in again on saturday for another going over

oh and my exhaust is RPW race headers, 3" magnaflow hi-flow cat, stock resonator and piping to a 6" magnaflow cannon
