Just wondering if its possible to change the locking system so it unlocks all doors on first push rather than 'one push' if your on your own, 'two pushes' if you have passengers?

I think this was covered previously, and I believe the answer is "NO".

The idea of opening only the drivers door with the initial push of remote button, is to thwart the potential car-jackers who lurk near your car hoping to jump into your passenger and rear doors as you open the Driver's door. Good ole Mitsi, fighting street crime at every opportunity!!!

There is nothing in the Owners Manual about being able to reconfigure this feature.

What about people with aftermarket alarms?

I don't have an aftermarket alarm, so I'm not sure - but perhaps when they are connected into the existing central locking, it overrides the OEM function.

Can anyone comment on this?

i find it very annoying to. all of my passengers go to open the door after the first time i press it, so when i press it the second time they are pulling the handle so it doesnt unlock their door. very frustrating.

On the TF you only have to push the button once and it unlocks ALL doors

Dual stage unlocking is a common feature these days anyways, you get used to it after a while :)

On the TE-TF Dual stage wasnt introduced yet, they also don't have any alarm...

i found a way to get past it, tell em to wait till i opened my door - two stage, BEFORE i push any buttons / lights flash. that way they know not to try and open it till i say. saves a lot of hassle really.

I found one of my remotes has cracked solder points, the ones for the battery under the battery clip.

One seems easy enough to get to, to solder it but the other one looks difficult. Any tips?

Also can someone post a link to tell me how to reprogram the remotes.

reprogramming is easy,

stick the key in the ignition, cycle from off-on 3 times, leaving it "on" with the 3rd cycle, indicators should flash

then press the unlock on any remotes you will use, as it resets the code (i think it flashes indicators again to confirm?)

then switch the car off

HI All

My 00 TH Exec has 2 stage, i believe it can be programmed in, but ive had the car so long I cant remember. Also from memory the TH was the first exec to have the body computer to allow such programming changes.
Our TF Advance never had any ability to reprogram.....

the bcm has two unlock signals and one lock signal
so all you need to do is cut the secondary unlock signal and patch the passenger doors into the drivers door unlock wire

havent tried this but im gonna when i get the time....im an autosparkie... trust me :)

I have just fitted an aftermarket alarm to mine to get rid of the two stage unlocking. The only problem now is when i open the boot from the aftermarket remote, the factory system is triggered so i havce to disarm the alarm before opening the boot with the remote

As an owner of a TF, i agree dual stage was not a feature available, but i prefer it this way anyway :)
