Hello all, I was hoping someone might be able to help, I read a thread recently about cleaning the throttle body and how simple it was to do. I gave it a go and ran into some trouble. I took the four bolts out and disconnected all the wiring attached to it. When i went to take it off, it was still stuck there in place. It came away a little but seemed stuck, i have looked and looked and couldnt see anything that was stopping it. I may be asking a stupid question here, but does anyone know what i was doing wrong, any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks

did you undo the mounting bolt on the firewall side? is it just half stuck together with the metal gasket?

at the bottom of the first post (ezboy's post) theres a attachment there that will tell you how to remove the throttle body
follow it cleanfully and you shouldnt have any problems at all
its a very good write up :)

Do You have Cruise control? If you do not, there should be 1 vaccum line on the very top of the throttle body (grey in colour) 2x coolant lines (approx 3/8 in size they stick out like a sore thumb because they usually have coolant out of them) you will have your ISC plug (Large square unit with 6-7 pins on it) thise one only goes one way and thats with the tab facing you. Then there is the TPS plug its a black retangular plug with an angel clip (called an angle because its a miracle if you can find them once it flies off) it also can only go one way.

If you have cruise everything else is the same except one extra vaccum line on the right hand side on a large golden solenoid.

Once those and the 4 bolts are disconnected it should come free, it may require a light tap with a rubber mallet to dislodge it (may be a bit of goo on the gasket) make sure you strike it on the top center of the unit with the force heading downward (like hitting a nail, just not as hard)

If your still stuck PM me your mob number and ill see what i can do over the phone for you.
