I have noticed a few people on here have 6" and some have 6.5" speakers in there doors.

What size splits do i need to buy to screw straight into the door space in a TJ series 2 VR-X?

6.5 inch fit fine with no probs.
I had a set of Fusion 6.5 splits in the standard loc for a while, the Casing on these were fairly large and as a result had to cut a bit out of the stock plastic mount.
Though the hole in the door were the speakers sits is quite large and people have managed to fit 8 inch drivers with wood baffles. I think Woob has them in his front doors in his install thread.
I have changed to wood baffles and makes it sound loads better, plus i have new splits now.

either will work, its just a matter of creating new screw holes in the plastic baffle, which is piece of cake

Is it hard to make wood baffles i haven't had a trim off yet to see what it looks like.

Sound like a plan if i can do it myself.
