Okay, I have access to a write off with some great stuff in it I figured id make use of

I need to know firstly, it has power windows, what things will I need to take from the car to transplant them to my car, and how do I get these things, is it worth the hassle?

Second, the analogue clock in between the vents, how does it come out and what bits do I need to grab

Thirdly, how long would it take to grab both front seats and rear seat out of it? I know how to take out the rear seat, but the fronts i dont know as much, relatively simple job?

If its not too much hassle its looking like I might be able to get some free power windows, new seats and the analogue clock :D

I'll try my best mate
Front seat, slide it back Think it is 2 x 14mm nuts
Then slide it forward, and its two 14mm bolts, seats come out (they are under little covers)

Dash clock, undo surround around cluster (2 screws upside down above steering column) that will reveal 1 screw holding on the long panel, take that out.
Next, take out the glovebox, thats held in by 2 screws underneath. glovebox comes out, then the glovebox surround, 4 screws at the top (where the latch is) and 2 x 10mm bolts either side, glovebox surround should come out. put your hand up behind the dash and you will feel two wing nuts, you will need to undo these, just try and break the seal with your finger and then they will spin off..

once the wingnuts are out, that whole passenger side trim should pop out with a bit of force, from there you will see how to get the dash clock out.

Power windows, Well, grab the regs (two bolts on top of door, 2 on bottom, 3 on motor I THINK) the switch's door cards and the little bracket on the door near the armrest which is different. If you can grab the wiring Loom you are sweet too or else you are in for a day of custom wiring.

Umm hoped that helped.

If it is the same color dash, grab it, better still, if you have the crapp blue interior and this is black, and in good nick, grab it all.

Also, if you get a dash that has the wiring for a dash clock already in it and transfer the dash over, it will work!
Need to find what pins on the fusebox it uses though.

mate, for dash clock, push a thin edge(screwdriver/knife) in between vents housing and clock fascia and twist. It will click forward. Done.

Power windows is a sinch! Do it, you wont regret!

yeah i think half my interiors blue and half black but my eyes arent great at distinguishing some of it, think the door cards are black but most of the rest is the blue so should get the black stuff

if i definately can get the stuff from this car i'll be laughing, think its a KR but the exteriors pretty messy so cant tell too much, just going by the interior features

ORRRRR...... undo the bits around the speedo cluster and just break the dash bits to get to the clock like i did :P

Or just unclip it from the vents as it comes out forwards lol No need to grab a screw driver. Make sure you get some of the wiring as yours will not have it at all, wire into the head unit plug

Fast Glass, grab the glass, regulators, door cards, switches and panels, door harness and as much of the interior harness as you can as again the secnd gen does not have the harness there if not equiped. Grab a wiring diagram and wire away. You will need heps of wire and a good soldering iron, heat shrink and if you do not know much about wiring I would suggest you get a mate to help you who has some knowledge. Personally I just prefer to grab the whole harness from the donor car, rip out the dash and use all the factory stuff. Is a biggish job but can be quicker than doing it bit by bit and is much cleaner

Pretty sure the glass is not different, all I had to change over was the door card, wiring and the internal bit (motor + lifting slide thing)

I could but the starter motor is going! Sounds like it's gonna crap itself any day now...Should really replace it...
On the topic though guess who got that digital clock from the touring wagon :D Hell yeaw

grab a BA starter for the EL, the same starter fits all falcons from XA - BA!

i put a BA starter in the EF, its much quieter
Where from how much mate? Need one soon..

Yeah I can vouch for this, and they are the quicker, high torque ones so it will start faster. Just make sure you have the battery grunt!

yes but they are rare :)
besides it's only one screwdriver flick out to change it back to the anolouge one.. (now that I know)
Now I have the diamante clock, rear view mirror, centre console, arm rest lid, and a little ciggy lighter bit that goes near the drivers leg (instead of the blanking plate)

Moreso to fill it with diamante bits, will see how she goes.

Yeah off topic but hey

The starters will fit from XR right through

You can also mod them to fit the V8 Clevo and Windsor as well if you know how (i do lol)

The reduction drive starters are the way to go, started in EA and went to EL then the BA was the same starter but different gear ratio to make better torque.

Yeah went to pinch a part in Kylsyth the other day,
First of all they close at 5.30, got there at 4.30 and they told me I have 15 mins as the girl at the counter wanted to go home early ??
Got a vac pump for the cruise, they wanted 57 bucks for the vac pump, I stated that the last one I purchased was $15 bucks and was listed as misc as it is not listed on the parts list. She just looked at me and told me I am dreaming and if I want a part of the crusie I have to pay for the whole lot. I asked her if I want a wheel nut do I need to buy the whole car, she just rolled her eyes at me and told me to "F" off.

Due to this, I will not be going back there, jollys for me from now on lol

So what does this touring one look like?

I Loooooove analogue one and so do all of my friends too (right with you gotrice). Looks fantastic with white LED's behind it and definitely adds class

Dont get me wrong I love my clock. But this is super rare, and I like saying "Yep only 2nd gen with *insert part here* In aus"
Although its not the only 2nd gen with a digi clock it is still cool to see one as they are only on like 1% of 2nd gens every released in aus.

Nah mate, I am just a picky person, I believe when you are paying for part or service you should get polite people just as I have always treated my customers with respect. What you think of a person can be thought out later, but when they are there to spend money, show respect and they will generally come back and spend more

i think its cause swearing is part of her vocab, like tradies, etc. anyway i went overboard with the wheel buying (as if that trolley load from jollys wasn't enough) lol anyway got another 6 rims (ford turbo blades) with tyres for 7 ea cause alloys were on special. and 2 brandspankin new dunlop tyres at 10 ea  anyway she was so suprised that i found these tyres and says everyone's complaining theres no good tyres

anyway we chattered her up a bit, even got her laughing but then she wanted us to take the wheels off the buggy thing in case we were pinching stuff and i though "oh s$#%" cause there were the wheel nuts and wheel braces, anyway i though i'd play dumb and say i thought they were part of the wheels, but she takes one look and says yeah ok, go through lol

then she has a go at us saying how i'm gonna get them in the car, so i said easy, and i can fit the trolly as well (the pap trolley) and she goes u can have it if it fits too! anyway i got the trolley in the 380 and would've driven off with it anyway she thought it was hilarious, and it was 5.30 on sunday! lol

Was this Kilsyth, must have been there just after me lol

Will be interesting, have sent an e-mail to PAP and will see what happens now

f***, now I know what you mean by crappy service. like 10 people in the maccas working behind the counter (the preston one we go to on thurs nights) but for some reason not 1 of them could manage to serve me in about 5 minutes. No joke. told them where to shove it.
Got my starter motor today.....very VERY quick service from them!
