Hi, has anybody tried the RPW cams? I am looking at stage2 with vernier cam gears, are they any good, are they re-grinds, who makes em, what sort of gains can I expect? any comments will be helpfull

until recently they were made by tighe, im in the process of sending cams back to tighe as we speak

good luck finding cams for your magna, youd have better luck getting a bull to lay an egg

Dont even bother with RPW, you can get proper cam gears cheaper through fleabay or rocket, and as for cams, theres a few things going on atm behind the scenes so i hear.

Yup, im having fun tring to track down someone who does them, tried Crow, Crane, and today I rang Wade, they are going to have a look and call me back tomorrow, not going to ring Tighe. I havent tried Wagott yet, cant get em, maybe still closed. The trouble is no-one does blanks, you just cant buy them, so they all do regrinds.

TBH nothing overly wrong with regrinds provided they are done properly wade and wagott are really good, they should be able to help out

Big John for you information Tighe doesnt make his own blank billets either, so if someone can crack the mystery on who supplys his billets (a certain top drift engine buider here in SA that uses tighe cams occasionally has told me that precision make some blank billets for tighe) then anyone could buy a pair and get anyone (someone bloody better) to grind them for them.

My old employer is looking into making blank billets up for me and if they are doable at a good cost to others(cheap) then i will let everyone on here know :badgrin: BUT until then i will keep things close to my chest.
