finally got around to doing something about my strut brace. as many would know, the standard Whiteline strut brace doesn't fit when you put a Sprintex kit on.
in my travels I managed to pick up a couple of sets of mounting lugs which would allow me to move the mounting points of the brace.
huge thanks to Cummins for his welding skills.

Looking good, looks like Cummins may have more welding to do for other sprintex owners:)

You can get a Nolathane one and redrill the holes so it fits with the sprintex as well

that's fine if you don't already have a Whiteline one... and the Nolathane ones are $200!

Hey Wookiee,
Top marks for the "make it fit" mod!! I'm just curious if you have noticed any difference/improvement with the strut-brace reinstalled?
I have a TJ and a KJ, fitted Whiteline strut-brace to them both - but didn't get much pre/post impression of handling. In the case of the KJ I fitted the strut brace at the same time as an ill-fitting (non-OEM) Whiteline rear sway bar.... so had absolutely nil impression of what brace did for me on its own.
After a bit of heartache I got the poorly-fitting rear sway bar re-bent - thanks with your help with that!! They have re-done the bar on my car, and are supposed to be making me a new one and giving it the glitter powder-coat and all. I'll give them another fortnight and see how they are getting on with it (they closed until 5 Jan). Once my swaybar was made to avoid the toe-control arm, and set to most stiff setting - the KJ was transformed!!
Anyhoo, my main reason for strut braces was to help these cars hold together on country roads, including dirt.
BUT if you have had you car with SC (and no brace) and have now re-fitted the modified brace, I'd love to hear your impressions of having the brace back??

not much to go on yet. I did notice a difference the first time I put it on (pre-blower), but the car has changed so much since then. I have yet to drive it in anger with the brace back on.
the main reason I wanted it back on is the spring rates on the coilovers I'm getting are rather high, and I didn't want to have the strut towers trying to meet in the centre!
have to sort out the rear towers now...
cheers,
