just got a new battery for the car after its been standing for a while. problem is, doesnt seem to do much at all. i was assured it was the right one for my car. the door lights sorta came on for a touch, but that was about it. wood it be the rong battery, or cause its been sitting for ages do i need to jump start it?

If its a brand new battery it should be fine. It sounds more like dodgy battery terminal clamps. Give them a clean and try again. Sometimes you need to kind of twist them on.

What gemini said. give the terminals and clamps a good clean with some sandpaper then start the car up to recharge the battery. Some times if the battery has been sitting around long enuff it will need a jump.

Best way to clean terminals is with boilng water, then once cool enough to touch use a scotchbrite
After done, put some termial protector (CRC) and then they will stay clean
