Hey guys,

just wondering on everyones thought on uni chips? It seems they can alter fueling and timing, which to me would also assume it would be fine for a twin turbo project (later down the track of course) does anyone know what they are like for tuners etc

If you wanna go Unichip with forced induction make sure you get the Q & find a tuner who knows what he is doing with them. Seems to be a few tuners around that don't know their capabilities.

whats the difference between the Q and the A that makes it worth the upgrade, i would be thinking that surely a low boost setup would be good with timing and fuel control. Its not like the 6g74 has VVTi or similar to deal with. And its not a sequential turbo setup either...

The older chips A etc are limited in what they can do whereas the Q can do almost anything. I don't think the older chips can accept a MAP sensor input for boost enritchment etc. Tradewinds Pro Sequential might be a better option as you get built in MAP etc for about the same price & he is already supplying them with boosted maps albiet for superchargers not turbos.

I can sell you a SMT6/7/8?? thats coming with my Supercharger kit at the right price as I am using my Unichip Q which is already on the car. Might have to see if you can unlock it but as it is preprogrammed for the TMR380 setup.

Speak to Ray at ART. He is a Unichip installer/tuner.

Ok... so you sold your Cressida which a 1jz can bolt straight into... and got a magna for "cruising".. and now want to twin turbo it?

Anyway.. Like Mohit said.. ART... thats where WTHCME and CITTRIS got their unichips installed and tuned.

Yeah,I had a "Type C' style Unichip fitted to my V6 Manual 1998 Camry,I got a figure of 124KW at the front treads, this was stock 3 litre 1MZ-FE quad cam donk,K & N filter and a straight through muffler on the back form a sportivo,i think the chip got me about 10 kw,but it was the power delivery and response that was very pleasing!,only doen side is it was $1250 installed and can be only tuned by an authorized dealer,so this limits you a fair bit

the reason im looking at the uni chips is the cost, $150 second hand, makes it a pretty good investment i think
