not sure if this is the right section but does anyone have any knowhow on this... bought this wheel of ebay for cheaper, and it needs repairing. There are fine cracks in the pearl coating, and a bit of a chip in one place, and i have reason to believe it is a polyurethane pearl coating according to the person who sold it to me.... does anyone know who would repair this or can you spray it in regular automotive paints over polyurethane? also i wouldnt mind getting the steel chrome bit painted in the pearl finish also, thought doubt this is possible,.. as the steeringwheel part is actually wood, so that rules out the high temps of powdercoating to my knowledge....

heres the link to the website, and its the pearl white steering wheel with chrome flames. It was the only one they had left otherwise i woulda bought brand new.

Hey, nice steering wheel!
Have you asked the supplier about repair procedures?
Try to get a matching colour in a spray can, and use that.
To me, putting pearl paint on a wooden steering wheel isn't going to be a sturdy proposition. More a wheel for a show car that doesn't get driven much, and not be subjected to changes in humidity and temperature.
I'd rub it back to the wood and repaint it, then be prepared to redo the wheel on an annual basis.

i thought that, but its mad of this flawless polyurethane coating, which is both heat resistant expandable and long life etc, its just this particular one was not dried properly in the making process, he has sold millions of others wich where fine.

Use it as it is, or hand paint a matching colour into the cracks and chips - even a white enamel would do. But honestly, only the original manufacturer could strip and recoat to perfection.
